KENOSHA, Wis. — Mayor David Bogdala (R) has hired former Kenosha Unified School Board appointee Atifa Robinson (D), vice president of the Kenosha NAACP, as manager of the city’s Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy, according to a media release issued by the City of Kenosha .
Robinson was appointed to the Kenosha Unified School Board in 2021 but later lost her election bid. She is widely known in local political circles as a liberal Democrat and serves as vice president of the Kenosha NAACP.
Robinson sits on the NAACP board alongside Alderman Anthony Kennedy and Monroe Mitchell.
Kennedy testified in a civil trial in which he lied under oath and committed perjury, and he was previously involved in an incident captured on video in which he beat a man with a chair during a public confrontation. Mitchell is a multiple convicted felon who was charged with child sexual assault in a prior case but was ultimately acquitted by a jury.
The city announced that Robinson has been selected to manage the Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy (KELA), an after-school program located at 2222 63rd St. in the Uptown neighborhood. The academy was established in 2024 through a partnership between the city and several community organizations to provide educational and career pathway programming for young people.
More than 40 applicants applied for the position after the city assumed direct operation of KELA in its 2026 budget. Robinson had previously served as director during the grant-funded startup phase administered by the YMCA of Kenosha.
Robinson is scheduled to begin her new role as a city employee on March 2.

Funny I tried contacting Kenosha NAACP long time ago…… a few times. Still waiting on a response. The other office is registered in lake Geneva… yes lake Geneva.
After she claimed to work for the police and city administrator to get people to move cars, harasses everyone on where they park, and makes threats, mental illness runs deep. Good luck! 👍🏻 She’s why 3 businesses left across the street.
Who says DEI is dead!
Sounds like a real winner…
Sarcasm intended…
Pretty sure EVERY member of the NAACP is a liberal democrat.
I would have thought he would have hired a business leader/ entrepreneur. I am very disappointed. I do not know enough about her. I may be wrong. I am going to visit that place and see what it is all about. My taxes paid for this building and her salary will too so I should feel welcomed.
The door is locked at all times, even though it’s a public building, good luck getting in. She is one of the rudest, most unprofessional people. This will end up being a BIG mistake!
DEI .. alive and kicking .. what do this job pay ..You have a scamming Mahone on the council .
Oh what a mean nasty woman to run a program meant for children ! She is never nice to children that come to that building to learn .
How much does this pay and where can I apply for these make believe jobs?
Bogdala Meet the new boss same as the old boss antaramiation..DEI rules
Not just Kenosha but any municipality that uses tax payers money to further big government without little to no accountability, or any way to show it benefits the citizenry as a whole.
More welfare to the usual subjects…the politicians and influencers.
Typical democrat/liberal/communism/socialist….
They always fail upward….i.e. Biden/Harris/Evers, etc….
I wonder how many people call her Antifa?
…we’re ‘ucked…
Make no mistake as to who it is that controls the primary platforms of political expression in our society. Journalism, tech media, academia, and the entertainment industry are all dominated by pro-left, anti-right messaging. And, it is precisely through this control that the prevailing sociopolitical narratives in our society are created and manipulated. It determines what we hear, what we don’t hear, how information is presented, and what opinions we then form. One wonders if without this control, would the Democratic party even exist?
