Kenosha Man Charged With Felony Strangulation After Allegedly Beating Woman With Step Stool, Slashing Tires

KENOSHA, Wis. — Ernesto J. Gonzalez, 51, of Kenosha, was charged in Kenosha County Circuit Court on Thursday with felony strangulation and multiple domestic abuse-related offenses after prosecutors say he beat a woman with a step stool, choked her to the point she could not breathe, and slashed her vehicle’s tires. Court Commissioner William Michel II set Gonzalez’s cash bail at $7,500. He is due back in court March 5 for a preliminary hearing.
