KENOSHA, Wis. — Court Commissioner William “Bargain Bail Billy” Michel II reduced a Kenosha woman’s bail by more than half Tuesday, cutting it from $1,500 to $700 just one day after she was taken into custody on a felony retail theft charge.

“Money is tight and I needed the items.” Money is tighter for everyone right now. If you’re not stealing life-saving equipment or baby formula for your baby, get out of here with that line. I’m so glad to see the “just walk out with it” bulk shoplifters seem to be getting caught and prosecuted. The system takes YEARS but it is still rolling. People need to know they’ll be caught, punished, and have a record.
