SALEM LAKES, Wis. — All criminal charges filed against Michael Lewis Strobach, 21, of Salem, stemming from the widely reported silo rescue at Trevor Horn Feed, were dismissed Monday in Kenosha County Circuit Court and replaced with a local ordinance citation for disorderly conduct.
The resolution came during a judicial pretrial hearing on March 2, 2026, before Judge Jodi L. Meier. Assistant District Attorney Ismael El-Hassan appeared on behalf of the State. Strobach appeared in person with his attorney, Foster, and the matter was called with Clerk S. Garcia present.
According to court minutes, prosecutors dismissed the pending criminal charges in their entirety and instead issued a municipal ordinance violation for disorderly conduct. Strobach entered a guilty plea to the ordinance citation, and the court found him guilty. Judge Meier imposed total fines and court costs of $263.50. The previously posted bond was applied toward that amount, with any remaining balance ordered returned to the poster.
The charges originally arose from a dramatic late-night incident in which first responders conducted a high-angle rescue after individuals climbed a grain silo at the Trevor Horn Feed facility. The case received significant public attention at the time due to the scale of the emergency response and the inherent danger involved.
In accordance with Kenosha County Eye’s policy of updating the public when requested by individuals involved in previously reported cases, this follow-up is being published at Strobach’s request. While Kenosha County Eye cannot track the disposition of every charge reported in its police blotter, the outlet will publish updates or amendments when contacted by the parties involved.
With the dismissal of the criminal counts, Strobach is presumed innocent of all criminal charges previously filed in connection with the incident.

This wasn’t a midnight stroll gone wrong. They didn’t slip down the side of a trail and get hurt needing rescue. This wasn’t an accident.
This was intentional trespass and vandalism in its own way ! Sure remove the criminal charges from this person’s record so they can move on in life but at least make them PAY !$!$!

The rescue team didn’t need to be there. In the dark. Cost were incurred.

Lesson learned ?! Sure you did learn. Not do it again? Of course you won’t. But you should ask for the names of every person who saved your ass from falling and dying that night.
Write them a letter thanking them. Go to the station and meet them. Shake their hands. Look them in the eye and say you’re sorry.
Then start volunteering somewhere until you feel like you paid back society for being stupid.
