KENOSHA, Wis. — Drivers who use Sheridan Road near downtown will face a weeklong closure beginning June 11 as the City of Kenosha replaces embedded streetcar tracks at the intersection of 56th Street and Sheridan Road.
The closure is expected to last about seven days and will require the full shutdown of the intersection to through traffic while crews complete the infrastructure work. City officials said the project is necessary to replace the electric streetcar track running through the intersection.

Northbound Sheridan Road traffic will be detoured west on 63rd Street, north on 22nd Avenue, east on 52nd Street, and then back to Sheridan Road.
Southbound traffic will instead be routed west on 52nd Street, south on 22nd Avenue, east on 63rd Street, and then back to Sheridan Road.
Motorists are being urged to allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs during the closure.
The city said it appreciates the public’s patience while the work is completed.

What a waste of tax payer money. Why bother? Does anyone even ride the trolley to nowhere? Every time I see the trolley there is literally no one on it – ever.
They’ll find a way to make it last all Summer.
