Kenosha Extreme Left-Wing Activist Demands ACLU Lawyer, Charged in Alleged Attack on Mother, Posts $650 Cash Bail

KENOSHA, Wis. — A 28-year-old Kenosha extreme left-wing activist, who told police she would not answer questions without an ACLU lawyer present — was formally charged Tuesday and released after posting $650 cash bail following allegations she attacked her mother with a wire sculpture and dragged her by the hair.

Devynn Grace Johnson, 28, of Kenosha, appeared before Court Commissioner William “Bargain Bail Billy” Michel II on May 5, 2026, where a $650 cash bail was set with strict no-contact conditions. Johnson posted the bond and was released from custody shortly after.

According to the newly filed criminal complaint, Johnson is charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, both with domestic abuse enhancers. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in jail and $10,000 in fines on the battery charge, plus an additional 90 days and $1,000 on the disorderly conduct charge, for a combined maximum exposure of nine months and 90 days in jail and $11,000 in fines.

The charges stem from a May 3, 2026 incident at a residence in the 6500 block of 24th Avenue. Police say Johnson’s father called 911 reporting that Johnson had become physical with her mother. Officers located Johnson walking nearby and detained her. During that encounter, Johnson told officers she would not answer questions without her lawyer from the ACLU present.

Investigators say the situation inside the home escalated quickly during an argument. According to the complaint, Johnson allegedly became angry, removed her clothing, and began yelling and throwing items around the living space. The victim told police Johnson then grabbed a galvanized wire sculpture and struck her in the arm before pulling her hair and dragging her to the floor.

The victim reported she was in pain and unable to get up after being pulled down. A witness — Johnson’s father — told police he saw Johnson grab the victim by the hair and pull her to the ground before he intervened and called 911.

Court records also show that a temporary restraining order was granted one day earlier based on similar allegations. In that filing, the victim alternates between referring to Johnson as “she” and “they/them,” reflecting how Johnson is described in the document.

Johnson has previously been arrested in Kenosha, including a 2023 incident in Pleasant Prairie where she was part of a group of activists confronting police following an in-custody death and was cited for disorderly conduct.

She is scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial conference on May 29, 2026, followed by a final pre-trial on June 12, 2026, before Judge Heather Iverson.

She attacked me and my 70 year old mother in law back in October but tells the cops I attacked her I smacked her 1 time cuz she disrespected me and my mother in law by calling us white trash she pulled mine and my mother in law hair but I get charged with disorderly conduct and battery im glad karma came and got her

  1. She’s always been a lunatic nutjob. Same with her nutjob crook (and rather chubby) boyfriend Kyle Flood.

Can you believe he actually initiated and enjoyed a threesome with this disgusting creature and another disgusting creature in Billy Violet aka Whitney Cabal? Mustache and everything!

  2. So glad I saw the local activist group for the grifters and criminals they truly are and was able to see the light politically.

This is literally their playbook. Commit a crime or some other general act that contradicts human decency, then immediately identify as some race or gender so they can scream racism or sexism or transphobia. It’s a complete joke.

Devyn has always been a horrific chick. Nuttier than one would believe. The fact that she demanded an ACLU lawyer would be pathetic and sad if it weren’t hilariously ironic because not a single member of the ACLU (attorney or otherwise) gives a single damn about helping anyone unless it’s helping themselves position themselves in front of a TV camera.
