SALEM LAKES, Wis. — A 45-year-old Lake Geneva woman is accused of stealing more than $132,000 from a Salem Lakes-based ATM and gaming business over a period of several years, allegedly using much of the money to fuel what she described to investigators as a near-daily gambling addiction. Court Commissioner William “Bargain Bail Billy” Michel II on Friday set cash bail at $5,000 for Michele T. Garreau after prosecutors requested $20,000 cash bail.

#RESPECT. gotta feed the addiction
Yup, we really need a casino, the bigger the better. Who cares if money, cars whatever will be stolen for another hour’s worth at the table. Payday loan places and title loan stores will make a fortune and second mortgage fees will soar.
The gambling machine owner can’t or didn’t keep track of his money ???
$132,K over 4 years ????
Must be nice not to miss a hundred grand out of your pockets or bank accounts !!!
You’re telling me this guy doesn’t have an accountant to reconcile the books AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR ?!?!?
Who does his Taxes ?
My Gosh how these businesses who allow this guy to not understand his business be a part of their businesses.
I wonder what the tax fallout might be for “unreported income” ??
Cash businesses !!
WOW ?!? To handle that kind of CASH Daily.
To not keep accurate books monthly !
To not do audits yearly !
Not sure if a guy like this who can’t run his own companies cash should continue to be licensed to handle other companies cash ?
Seems like a visit from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue is in order.
WOW ?!? Really, WOW !
You have asked right questions. The owner’s lack and lapsed accounting controls should be prioritized by the WI Dept of Revenue for a low blade, micro examination.
Also, the first two posters also were spot on target about the perp’s appearance.
