SOMERS, Wis. — Four men have been arrested following a shooting at the Bluebird Motel that investigators say occurred during an attempted armed robbery connected to a suspected narcotics transaction, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office. Formal charges have not yet been filed, but the case has been referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office for review.
Deputies were dispatched to the Bluebird Motel at approximately 11:38 p.m. on June 5 after receiving reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they learned that William L. Phillips, 39, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds after fleeing the motel parking lot in his vehicle. Phillips was transported to a local hospital before being transferred to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee for further treatment. Authorities said he remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.
According to investigators, several individuals had arranged to meet at the motel for what was believed to be a narcotics transaction. During that meeting, detectives allege an attempted armed robbery occurred and Phillips was shot multiple times.
Detectives used surveillance footage, FLOCK license plate reader technology, witness interviews, search warrants, digital evidence, and other investigative techniques to identify those allegedly involved in the shooting.
The Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of:
• Curtis A. Robison, 35, who investigators allege participated in the attempted armed robbery, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and was a felon in possession of a firearm.
• Kerry G. Turnipseed, 39, who investigators allege participated in the attempted armed robbery and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
• Kendrick D. Role, 43, who investigators allege participated in the attempted armed robbery and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
• Joseph Rannow, 32, who investigators allege participated in the attempted armed robbery and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
Investigators believe Turnipseed drove the suspect vehicle, Robison fired the shots, and Role exited the vehicle with Robison during the incident. Detectives also allege Rannow helped arrange the meeting that preceded the shooting.
Sheriff David Zoerner praised detectives, patrol deputies, K-9 teams, and law enforcement partners for what he described as a swift and thorough investigation that led to the suspects’ identification and arrest.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office also credited the Racine County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Metro Drug Unit for assisting in the investigation.
The investigation remains active, and authorities said additional allegations may be referred to prosecutors as detectives continue reviewing evidence and conducting follow-up investigative work.

With the end of slavery, His family chose their surname. All they could think of was Turnipseed. It was between that and Cottonseed.

Those places are nothing but drug dens. You will catch more diseases just laying on one of the beds then you could from the 2:00 a.m. floozies that people used to use those places for.
