KENOSHA, Wis. — Two people were shot shortly after midnight Saturday at Lincoln Park following reports of a large gathering, a fight and gunfire, according to scanner traffic recorded by Kenosha County Eye.
The first call came in just after midnight Saturday morning when a caller reported a large party at Lincoln Park. Moments later, another caller reported that she had been struck by another person at the park.
Additional callers then reported that shots had been fired and that vehicles were fleeing the area.
Within minutes, officers with the Kenosha Police Department located a gunshot victim at the park. The Kenosha Fire Department was dispatched shortly thereafter.
Scanner traffic indicated that a female victim was later found with a possible gunshot wound to the leg. The woman reportedly told officers that her boyfriend had also been shot. Officers initially had difficulty locating the boyfriend, and scanner traffic indicated the female victim was not cooperating with investigators.
Police later advised firefighters that the scene was secure enough for medical personnel to enter.
A second gunshot victim was located in the parking lot of St. Catherine’s Hospital after being driven there by private vehicle. Pleasant Prairie police were requested to respond to the hospital.
Scanner traffic described one suspect as a Black male wearing a black ski mask, black Nike jacket, black pants and black shoes. Officers also reported that one male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower right thigh.
Investigators located shell casings east of the park bath house. Scanner traffic indicated that at least two .22-caliber shell casings had been recovered.
Police further reported that two suspects were believed to have been involved in the shooting and fled the area in a Nissan sedan.
The conditions of the victims were not immediately known.

This violent ghetto culture is a plague on society and needs to be mitigated. It’s just accepted right now. Ghetto culture has zero conflict resolution or communication skills other than screaming and violence. It’s learned behavior now for generations. Only the culture can change itself from within, no law can make people act normally on a large scale.
There will be a Juneteenth celebration there in a few days, and stopping behavior like this will not even be a thought to the people attending. It will be business as usual.
Say, perhaps the mentality the people involved (as an unknown demographic) is why they’re still shooting each other and being uncooperative when the police show up? Maybe if this group had accountability for themselves, a job to get to tomorrow morning, a lawn to cut….- there may not be as many shootings.

I was beaten bloody and shot at while escaping on foot in that neighborhood back in 1978. In court, judge Michael Fisher dismissed the charges and told me that “it appears you were in the wrong neighborhood’!
I had been there to purchase a car I needed for parts. Bought it but had to let the guy take off his new tires so we were walking home around sunset when we were surrounded by, unprovoked attack based on ignorant racism.
So sad because of all the great memories of that beautiful park. My favorite.
