According to police, officers were responding to Lincoln Park at approximately 12:05 a.m. Saturday for reports of a large gathering, a noise complaint and a battery complaint when Kenosha County Joint Services began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area.

Upon arriving at the park, officers encountered a large group of people and located a juvenile female with a leg injury that investigators do not believe was caused by gunfire. While assisting the female, officers learned that another victim had been shot and was being transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.

Police said Barker arrived at the hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

  1. The real shame is that’s such a nice park but nobody wants to go there because of them people who hang out in the park….not one person was legally supposed to be in the park after mid night, when even the smallest lawmaker broke there cc an be major consequences….

    13
    2
    1. The PD lost control of that neighborhood a long time ago—even a grocery store had to shut its doors.
Having a squad nearby wouldn’t hurt at all and might even save a life.

      8
      1
        1. The blacks. Ain’t no beating around the bush. They cause over 60% of the violent crime in America. They need to go.

          2
          2
    1. remember that 18 year old is somebody’s child. let it be your friend, let it be your sibling, let it be your child and i guarantee such ignorance wouldn’t spew from your mind.

  2. I dont know if changing the park closure time would make a difference? But enforcement needs to be solid. Yes, they may go elsewhere and shoot each other but…
On a side note, I watched cars and trucks drive out on the grass in Eichelman Park yesterday and park. They drove right past the “NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES” signs. Society is soooo broken! People just dont care anymore.

    11
    1
      1. They should have cops around that park at night on every weekend night. The failure to do so is just shitty and stupid policing.

Then again; half the force is under like 20 years old. What do you expect?

        4
        3
        1. Of course they should have officers—perhaps even one or two Gang Squad members, keeping an eye on that park and the surrounding area. Back in my days, the Gang Squad used informants to stay ahead of the game.

          8
          1
  3. So there were no preventative operations on behalf of the PD. Were they not aware of the meeting? Not a single squad nearby—either a gang squad or an unmarked unit? Very poor prevention. I like you, Chief, however this could have been prevented.
It’s not only corrective—there’s also a preventative component to maintain law and order.

    9
    6
    1. Sure, the gang banger wannabes ALWAYS call ahead to let KPD know they’ll be having a shooting spree after the park closes.

      You’re delusional

      8
      8
      1. So when you say “banger wannabe,” you’re talking about someone who isn’t on your usual suspect list?
There’s no doubt I wasn’t your kid who was murdered, and that you’re trying to defend the indefensible.

  4. Milwaukee gets most of the stares law enforcement funds. Which is unfair because Racine & Kenosha population is almost equal to that county, so it should be half, not 1/10th. In the meantime start a neighborhood watch, volunteer. If you can’t handle the neighborhood, move out and let others that are capable of improving the quality of life there, move in.

    1
    2
  5. Thank, Lieutenant Governor Sarah Rodriguez for the decline of the quality of life in Kenosha. She writes the budget and with the given funds , it’s next to impossible for the manpower in law enforcement to properly police Kenosha.

    4
    0
  6. What’s sad is alot of good people live in these neighborhoods. Liberal lawmakers policies ruin cities. Whats even Crazier? People keep voting for these liberal ideals

    9
    1
  7. When you erase the moral components that have historically held our society together, and replace it with feral components, this is what you get. Why are people surprised??? A moral vacuum can not exist where everyone can live by their own laws. Delusional dream, horrible reality.

    3
    2
  8. Not saying the 18 year old deserved to die, but going out late after dark, with dangerous people, in the wrong area… that’s a recipe for the worst.

    5
    2
  9. Fkd top to bottom. Pedophiles grifting, looting robbing us blind at the top to the hood rats who don’t give a flying fk either…

    1
    1
  10. Truly heartbreaking…we are all born the same in the eyes of God. Kenosha deserves better, its so lamentable what our city has become. The sad part of it all is that there are decent, hardworking people in these areas, but when some little boys who want to be men start things, its the people who are ultimately affected. My heart goes out to all those involved, and may they all find peace. Such a regrettable incident, what ever happened to love thy neighbor?

    1. Its a good neighborhood that used to be rough but just one incident paints the area in the negative. That is life in the big city, you can’t prevent this kind of stuff no matter what you do. if somebody serves lumpy potatoes that may be a cause to shoot someone. How do the police prevent that?

  11. I was waiting for riots and peaceful protests. Where is all the blm outrage? I guess it doesn’t count since no white cop was involved in the shooting. Black on black crime is ok…

  12. I’m pretty confident the shooter arrived directly before the shots fired and fled directly after in a silver pickup truck. I don’t think anyone in the group that was out did it. Also, being out at night should not be dangerous. The danger is kids having access to weapons and the gang banger culture some of these kids grow up in.
