KENOSHA, Wis. — The City of Kenosha is advising residents that curbside garbage collection will continue on its normal schedule during the week of Independence Day, despite an error printed in the city’s 2026 Garbage, Yard Waste, and Recycling Calendar.
According to a press release issued Monday by the Department of Public Works, the original calendar incorrectly showed a delay in collection on Friday, July 3. City officials said there will be no change to waste collection service that day, and Waste Division crews will operate on their regular schedule.
While garbage pickup will not be affected, several city-operated drop-off facilities will close for the July 4 holiday. The Compost/Yard Waste Drop-Off Site at 4071 88th Ave. will be closed Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day and will reopen Monday, July 6. The site’s normal operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Bulk Drop-Off Site at 1001 50th St. will also be closed July 4 and will reopen July 6. Its regular hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents seeking additional information may contact the City of Kenosha Department of Public Works at 262-653-4050.
