Felon Held on $25,000 Cash Bail After Allegedly Reaching for Loaded Gun During Struggle With Police

KENOSHA, Wis. — Cortez K. Wise, 21, of Kenosha, was ordered held on a $25,000 cash bail Thursday after appearing in court on charges that he illegally possessed a firearm as a convicted felon and allegedly attempted to reach for a loaded handgun while struggling with Kenosha police officers during a traffic stop. Supplemental Court Commissioner Tracey "Low-Bail" Braun dismissed one of two identical resisting charges after the defense argued it was multiplicitous and set the cash bail.

  2. So if someone is out on bond and is not supposed to not commit another crime or carry a weapon; why is there still Bond if they do commit another crime? And what happens to the Bond in Racine County in this case? I’m not being funny, just asking.

  4. Finance the extra- curriculum activities @ the KUSD so all students, not just the elite have the opportunity for a sports scholarship.

  10. Well here in Kenosha I got into a fender bender a few years ago. I was carrying a Smith and Wesson Model 19 revolver on my hip. When the cops showed up, I gave the cops my DL, concealed carry licence, insurance card and registration. I was treated professionally, took my citation and drove off. Stark difference to what Mr. Wise experienced. And by the way, all my tail lights work.
