KENOSHA, Wis. — Judge Heather Iverson gave Jorge Micheal Rodriguez, 36, of Pleasant Prairie, two weeks of freedom before requiring him to begin serving a 30-day work-release sentence after he pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated with his unbuckled 5-year-old and 1-year-old children in the vehicle while an open beer sat within his reach. Rodriguez was sentenced on July 1 but was not ordered to report to the Kenosha County Jail until July 17, continuing what many view as the Kenosha County judiciary's lenient approach to impaired-driving cases involving children and repeat OWI offenders.
