RANDALL, Wis. — A pickup truck crashed completely through a home in the 39400 block of 104th Street early Friday morning, killing the driver after the vehicle penetrated roughly 10 feet into the residence. The homeowners escaped without injury despite the extensive structural damage.
According to emergency radio traffic, dispatchers received the call at approximately 2:40 a.m. Initial reports indicated the driver had possibly fled the scene after the crash, prompting deputies and firefighters to search the area. A short time later, deputies reported the truck was completely inside the residence, with concerns about a possible gas leak and exposed live electrical wires. Utility companies were called to the scene.
The Kenosha County Specialized Response Team (SRT) was requested to help stabilize the heavily damaged home. Twin Lakes Fire/Rescue, the Town of Randall Fire Department, and firefighters from Somers, Pleasant Prairie, Bristol, and Wheatland responded as part of the county’s technical rescue team. A Richmond, Illinois ambulance was also requested to provide coverage for Twin Lakes while local crews remained committed to the crash.
Deputies initially believed the driver may still have been inside the residence. A Flight For Life helicopter was requested but was unable to fly because of heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires.
At 2:59 a.m., deputies located an unconscious person inside the pickup truck. By 3:02 a.m., a deputy reported the individual appeared to be dead. Radio traffic also indicated officers found a blood trail near the scene, and a witness reported the driver had crawled away from the wreck before returning to the pickup truck.
The Medical Examiner’s Office was notified shortly afterward, and the Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was called in to investigate the fatal crash. Fire officials later confirmed the deceased was the truck’s sole occupant and driver. The driver’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Deputies at the scene believed the driver had been traveling from the Country Thunder music festival. The pickup truck was registered to an owner from Burlington, according to radio traffic.
The crash also destroyed stop signs at the nearby intersection, and the Kenosha County Department of Public Works was notified to replace them.
Fire crews cleared the scene at approximately 7:16 a.m. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office and MCAT continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

… why homeowners who buy and have homes in harms way of oncoming vehicles where roads intersect like this, and there are many examples everywhere in the state and throughout the local county, don’t install large boulders along the roadway to stop these vehicles who typically are driven by drunk drivers ?
Sure some will argue that those drivers might be killed hitting an immovable object like a 5,000 pound rock but they shouldn’t be driving off the road either !
Personally I would never own a home where cars can find their way into my living room or bedroom.

Who buys a house where their own flesh and blood can get killed while sleeping in their own beds ?
Owner should take this opportunity to tear it down and build it somewhere else.
What a bizzare story, police update said he exited the vehicle asked the homeowner if anyone else was hurt and then returned to the vehicle and shot himself in the head.

Let’s get realistic here. when you get that Many people together for a live country music festival that runs through the weekend, there are bound to have some issues.Not everyone is going to act the same and that pertains to anything. Festival or no festival. Get real!
