KENOSHA, Wis. — The City of Kenosha and Kenosha Professional Firefighters Local 414 have reached a tentative three-year collective bargaining agreement covering wages, vacation, overtime, and the promotional process. Mayor David Bogdala (R) and Local 414 President Ricardo Lebron (D) announced Tuesday that the agreement is the result of months of negotiations and will be presented to the Kenosha Common Council for consideration at an upcoming meeting.
According to the City, the tentative agreement addresses wages, vacation, overtime, and the promotional process. Officials said the negotiations were marked by professionalism, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving Kenosha residents.
Bogdala praised the collaborative approach taken throughout the bargaining process.
“From day one, this administration has believed that the best agreements are reached through honest communication, mutual respect and a willingness to work together,” Bogdala said. “I want to thank President Ricardo Lebron, the members of Local 414, and Fire Chief Daniel Tilton and his leadership team for the constructive partnership they brought to the table. This tentative agreement demonstrates what can be accomplished when both sides remain focused on finding common ground while ensuring the City continues to provide exceptional fire and EMS services in a fiscally responsible manner.”
Lebron said the negotiations reflected a strong working relationship between the union and city leadership.
“These negotiations were built on trust, professionalism and a genuine commitment to working together,” Lebron said. “We appreciate Mayor Bogdala and Chief Tilton for approaching these discussions with openness and respect. This tentative agreement reflects the strength of our partnership and our shared goal of providing the highest level of service and protection to the citizens of Kenosha while recognizing the dedication of our firefighters.”
Both Bogdala and Lebron said the tentative agreement represents more than a labor contract, describing it as a reflection of the cooperative relationship between the City of Kenosha and its firefighters.
Financial terms of the proposed contract, including wage increases and any changes to benefits or overtime provisions, were not included in Tuesday’s announcement. Those details are expected to become public when the agreement is presented to the Common Council for approval.
