PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — A Kenosha woman accused of stealing a Pleasant Prairie firetruck while naked, making bizarre transmissions over the department's radio channel, and driving the emergency vehicle through the village was released Tuesday after a court commissioner set her cash bond at just $200. During the hearing, her attorney raised concerns about her competency, prompting the court to order a competency evaluation. Pleasant Prairie Fire Chief Craig S. Roepke told Kenosha County Eye the incident resulted from an unusual set of circumstances after a department vehicle was inadvertently left outside with its keys inside while firefighters were outfitting a new apparatus. He said the firefighter responsible immediately accepted responsibility and described the incident as a "perfect storm" rather than a pattern of negligence.

Imagine if she went into the bar district and ran down some unsuspecting people walking on the sidewalk or across an intersection correctly with the lights. Imagine if she ended up crashed into a tree or put the truck in Lake Michigan. Then drowned ! “

A perfect storm is when obviously harmless things come together and as a group they become harmful. This firefighter says his perfect storm was the fact that THE ONE NIGHT he decides to be careless and leave the keys in an unlocked vehicle WAS THE NIGHT that a naked woman would amble on by and just so happen to CHECK THE DOORS and then FIND KEYS in the ignition of a GOVERNMENT VEHICLE !!!!!!!!

Who knows how many time this guy or any of these fighters just randomly leave vehicles outside at night with the keys in them thinking that it would take a perfect storm for someone to walk on by and jump in ?!?
This “firefighter” needs a month suspension without pay, (and that includes not allowing him to take PTO or Vacation Pay) to be punished for all the possible bad outcomes that didn’t happen.
And if he doesn’t get suspended then the village needs to fire the chief and or the commission that oversees this department.

You have no idea. I’d bet money, leaving the keys in the trucks is extremley common. You just don’t expect people to steal them. And they usually don’t. Could you imiane being on a call and need to move the engine but Billy is on the 3rd floor fighting a fire with the keys in his pocket? I’m sure this happens all across the US but they just dont want to announce it.

Listen folks, I say we all pitch in a couple of bucks to post bail. Let’s think about the situation before us…. FLOCK cameras hold lots of precious metals that are valuable to someone who wants some easy scrap money for booze. If we want to stop the emerging surveillance state being created before us, then desperate times call desperate measures.
