KENOSHA, Wis. — Lauren J. Madsen, 38, of Somers, is accused of keeping dogs and cats inside a sweltering home filled with animal feces, urine, mold, flies and maggots — while allegedly caring for horses and an alpaca in manure-filled enclosures. Madsen was charged Tuesday with 18 misdemeanors and one ordinance-level animal mistreatment offense and faces up to 13½ years behind bars if convicted and sentenced consecutively to the maximum penalties.
