KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. — Multiple people reported gunfire and bullets apparently flying over Strawberry Creek Golf Course Saturday afternoon, prompting a response from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement.
At about 1:40 p.m. Saturday, multiple callers reported hearing shots in the area of Strawberry Creek. People who contacted Kenosha County Eye and said they were at the golf course reported that bullets could clearly be heard flying from the direction of a farm north of the course and traveling toward or over the golf course.
Some golfers reportedly dropped to the ground for safety after hearing bullets fly past them.
The incident occurred near Hole No. 15. The suspected source of the gunfire was believed to be one of the farm properties off 60th Street, a considerable distance from that portion of the golf course.
A person familiar with the situation told Kenosha County Eye that investigators were looking into the possibility that neighbors on nearby property were target practicing outside and may not have been using a proper backstop, potentially allowing rounds to travel well beyond the intended target area. KCE has not independently confirmed that account, and authorities have not yet announced who was responsible for the gunfire.
Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office radio traffic corroborates that investigators were focusing on the farm properties north of the golf course. During the response, a deputy asked, “Is there a farm off of 60th?” and said information indicated the gunfire was probably coming from that direction. Dispatch reported that a second caller had also contacted authorities and that the apparent source was near the northwest corner of the golf course property off 60th Street.
At least two Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office units subsequently cleared another assignment and advised dispatch that they were en route to Strawberry Creek.
The circumstances surrounding the gunfire, including exactly where the shots originated, who was firing, how many rounds were fired and whether the rounds actually traveled onto or over the golf course, remain under investigation.
Golfers familiar with Strawberry Creek told Kenosha County Eye that Hole No. 15 is already considered one of the more difficult holes on the course.
One area resident who spoke with KCE suggested it might be a little more difficult now.

If this case makes it to one of Kenosha county’s liberal biased judges I recommend doing away with the emotional support hamster sentence and giving a hunters safety sentence.
I remember when “Drinking Buddy Friends” of an owner of a old farm house nearby showed up with their plinkers and began random target shooting without considering where the final destination of their LEAD would end up then hearing the SNAPS of .22 bullets hitting my brick house while I’m outside in my driveway…..
