KENOSHA, Wis. — Justin J. Johnson, 43, of Kenosha, was sentenced to only two months of work release for his felony 4th-offense OWI, underscoring liberal Judge Jodi L. Meier’s (D) tolerance and support of felony repeat drunk drivers.

This concerned me so I did a little digging. The defendant got some consideration by finishing alcohol assessment up front (as allowed by law). The court minutes say that the judge “reluctantly” followed the joint recommendation of the prosecutor and defense counsel. If the DA is concerned about impaired driving then maybe he should start trying some cases instead of folding.
