KENOSHA, Wis. — Micah N. Jackson-Ratcliff, 17, of Kenosha, is facing seven criminal charges in two separate felony cases accusing him of attacking and robbing two men just five days apart, including a 79-year-old man who suffered a brain bleed, broken sinus and severe facial injuries. Kenosha County Court Commissioner Daniel E. Kellum set a combined $300,000 cash bail Thursday, $150,000 in each case.

The elderly victim’s niece, Marissa Kowal, said her uncle was beaten nearly to death and that his face was left “unrecognizable.” She said he suffered bleeding in his brain but is expected to recover. “All of this for $5,” Kowal wrote in a social media comment, adding that she was relieved police had captured the alleged attacker on camera.

Agreed! I have my head on a swivel everywhere I go in Kenosha, and I resent it having to be that way, because it doesn’t. Scumbags everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. The Liberal Judiciary keeps this revolving door going where they are right back on the street to victimize us all. That victimization starts by taking away the decent, law-abiding citizens feeling of being safe. It’s being done on purpose.
It’s this way because about 80% of “decent law-abiding citizens” have been too lazy to pay attention or do anything about anything for the last 40 years.

This state needs to update the self defense laws. Wisconsin needs “stand your ground” in addition to our castle doctrine. Seniors that are coherent should all train to use and carry a weapon. These punks have no fear of the law or authority and should pay with their lives if need be. Better to read about some thug getting hurt attempting a robbery than senior citizens remaining easy prey as in this case.

Most maybe not but those that practice and train for these situations will be fine. Until the laws are updated, self defense will be a crime. As a veteran I think the “duty to retreat” goes against my instinct and training.

By “fine” I meant capable of putting up some sort of defense. I guess we seniors should hide, cower and never fight back because we’re too old, feeble and slow. That is what concealed carry is for, so we have an equalizer when in danger. What are your thoughts or suggestions?

Though the liberal Mr. Kellum got the bail numbers right on this case, probation is the most likely penalty. Hopefully, members of the public will form ad hoc to promptly dispose of this trash in lieu of the current local Leftist agenda-infested justice bench impotence.
