KENOSHA, Wis. — A 45-year-old man was critically injured Sunday afternoon after police say he intentionally shot himself in the 5400 block of 34th Avenue in Kenosha.
Kenosha Police Department radio traffic indicates the call came in at approximately 5:12 p.m. Dispatch advised responding officers that the man was conscious and breathing after intentionally shooting himself. Officers were then told he appeared to be in the front yard.
A man who was in the area at the time told Kenosha County Eye that the man shot himself in front of his girlfriend. That detail has not yet been independently confirmed by police.

The man’s condition appeared extremely serious. Radio traffic indicated his breathing had deteriorated, and officers quickly began shutting down the area around 55th Street and 34th Avenue so emergency crews could safely enter.
Kenosha Fire Department personnel were also seen appearing to perform CPR on the man after reaching him.

Fire and rescue personnel initially staged nearby until police secured the scene. Once officers advised that the scene was safe, rescue personnel were allowed to enter. Fire radio traffic also included a request to check the status of Flight For Life, indicating officials were at least considering air transport.
The available radio traffic does not indicate whether the man survived his injuries.

What a jerk. This is a major starter home neighborhood with a ton of children and this ass decides he’s going to dust himself with a gun to the head in the front yard in broad daylight.
I’m sure that’s exactly what he was thinking about when he did it.
Yes, suicide attempts are selfish but unfortunately there are limited resources for mental health.

Unfortunately he didn’t make it & passed away….
I would say fortunately. He made a decision to take his life. Could you imagine making that decision and surviving as a potential vegetable? That would be way worse for the guy.
