KENOSHA, Wis. — A 56-year-old woman was killed Friday after being struck by a vehicle near Washington Road and 30th Avenue in Kenosha, according to Kenosha Police Capt. Leo Viola.
Viola told Kenosha County Eye the woman was a pedestrian and that police do not currently suspect criminality in connection with the crash.
Police radio traffic reviewed by KCE showed a significant police presence at the scene. At one point, an officer directed someone to the car wash at Washington Road and 30th Avenue to retrieve tents being used at the scene. Later radio traffic referenced officers clearing from the accident.
The available radio traffic does not identify the woman, the driver or the vehicle involved, and additional details about exactly how the crash occurred were not immediately available.
Police remained at the scene for an extended period while the crash was investigated and traffic in the area was affected.
The identity of the woman has not yet been released.
