KENOSHA, Wis. — Elijah M. Smith, 23, of Kenosha, is facing criminal charges after prosecutors say he drunkenly drove at a high rate of speed, lost control while attempting a sharp turn and slammed his car into Kenz Smooth Cuts before running from the scene, leaving an injured passenger behind. Nathaniel R. Presterl, 25, of Kenosha, who police say was riding in the front passenger seat, was separately charged after officers allegedly found Xanax in his pockets. Smith was ordered held on a $750 cash bail Friday by Supplemental Court Commissioner Daniel E. Kellum, while Presterl was released on a no-cash bail.
