KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis’ Wisconsin law license was reinstated just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, ending a suspension that lasted approximately one day. A Tuesday morning memorandum from the Office of Lawyer Regulation states that, effective Sept. 15, 2026, Solis’ license to practice law in Wisconsin “is reinstated from that suspension.”
When reached by KCE Tuesday morning, Solis provided the following statement:
“I want to sincerely thank the members of our community, as well as the many attorneys and colleagues who reached out to me with words of support and encouragement. Your calls, messages, prayers, and expressions of confidence have meant a great deal to me and my family. I am deeply grateful for the support I have received and remain committed to serving the people of Kenosha County.”
Suspension Followed Missed Deadline
Solis’ license was suspended Monday after he missed a deadline to provide information requested by OLR in connection with multiple complaints the agency was investigating. Under Wisconsin Supreme Court rules, attorneys are required to cooperate with OLR investigations, and the rules provide for an automatic suspension mechanism when an attorney fails to do so. OLR describes the mechanism as an automatic suspension for failure to cooperate.
The suspension was procedural and was not a determination that the allegations underlying the complaints were true.
The OLR investigations include complaints involving former Kenosha County Deputy District Attorney Andrew “Drew” Burgoyne and a matter concerning Solis’ use of artificial intelligence in a court filing.
In the AI matter, Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge David Hughes sanctioned Solis after an AI-assisted filing contained an inaccurate case citation and the use of AI was not disclosed as required by a local court policy. The sanction consisted of Hughes striking the brief from the record. There was no fine or other penalty imposed on Solis.
OLR had requested a large volume of documents and information from Solis in connection with its investigations.
Less than 24 hours after the suspension took effect, his license was reinstated.
OLR Reinstates Solis
The Tuesday memorandum states that Solis’ license had been suspended effective Sept. 14 pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 22.03(4)(c). The new memorandum says that, pursuant to SCR 22.03(4)(d), his license was reinstated effective Tuesday, Sept. 15.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court created the lawyer regulatory system and established the rules governing attorney regulation. OLR operates as part of that system and is responsible for screening and investigating allegations involving Wisconsin attorneys.
OLR’s most recent annual report illustrates how quickly noncooperation suspensions can end. Of 10 attorneys suspended for failing to cooperate during the 2024-25 fiscal year, three were reinstated within six days and another was reinstated within 25 days.
Solis is once again licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and can resume his duties as Kenosha County District Attorney.

He proved people wrong
Widespread media coverage regarding a DA that had his license to practice law suspended, and the damage to the man’s reputation will linger for a long time.
If someone planned what appears to be political lawfare it needs to be exposed.
Kenosha Exposed has become a full‑blown detriment to the community. It operates as a hate site run by people who seem more interested in chaos than truth. They do not care who they harm, whether someone is involved or not, and the reckless behavior on that platform shows it.
I’ve read the garbage these feverish extremists publish. This is exactly the kind of conduct that drags society downward. Facts don’t matter to them; only clicks do. It’s pathetic.
I’ve seen numerous statements that appear legally defamatory, and I sincerely hope the author and others finally put an end to that website’s smear‑factory. They can hate the author all they want, but attacking innocent people simply for knowing KM is sickening. Under their logic, everyone is guilty of something, everyone knows this author.
The District Attorney has done nothing except follow the law, yet lawless people scream otherwise. It’s absurd.
As for “Jackie,” she chose to defame the author and is now facing the consequences, criminally and civilly. When she loses, I’m sure the same crowd will claim the jurors and judges are corrupt. And if she’s acquitted, they’ll claim justice has prevailed. What justice, shit talking innocent people. Their narrative never changes: if reality doesn’t fit their fantasy, they attack reality.
This behavior is toxic, destructive, and long overdue for accountability.
