Kenosha Man Accused Of Choking Girlfriend Until She Blacked Out, Held On $1,200 Cash Bail

KENOSHA, Wis. — A 34-year-old Kenosha man accused of choking his girlfriend until she lost consciousness made his initial appearance Tuesday afternoon, September 22, 2026, before Court Commissioner Daniel E. Kellum. Quinten N. Jones was charged with felony strangulation and suffocation, misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, all as acts of domestic abuse. Kellum set Jones’ cash bail at $1,200, despite the alleged victim requesting no-cash bail and no violent contact.

Kenosha Dumps Diluted Wastewater Into Lake Michigan After More Than 4.5 Inches Of Rain

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Kenosha Water Utility discharged diluted wastewater into the storm sewer system and ultimately Lake Michigan over the weekend after more than 4.5 inches of rain overwhelmed portions of the city’s sanitary sewer system. KUSD Enrollment Drops By 770 Students In One Year, Falls 442 Below District Projection

KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha Unified School District enrollment fell by 770 students this school year, dropping from 17,799 students in September 2025 to 17,029 students in the district’s official Sept. 18, 2026 Third Friday count. The decline represents a loss of about 4.3% of KUSD’s student population in a single year. The final number also came in significantly below what KUSD had anticipated.
