Woman Calls 911 Claiming Boyfriend Is Attacking Her With Gun — Deputies Arrest Her Instead

PADDOCK LAKE, Wis. — A 35-year-old woman who called 911 claiming her boyfriend was attacking her and had a gun ended up being the one arrested after Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputies investigated and determined she was the predominant aggressor. Kayla Dawn Kasputis is charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct, both as acts of domestic abuse. Court Commissioner Daniel E. Kellum found probable cause Tuesday and continued Kasputis on $500 cash bail.

Kenosha Dumps Diluted Wastewater Into Lake Michigan After More Than 4.5 Inches Of Rain

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Kenosha Water Utility discharged diluted wastewater into the storm sewer system and ultimately Lake Michigan over the weekend after more than 4.5 inches of rain overwhelmed portions of the city’s sanitary sewer system. KUSD Enrollment Drops By 770 Students In One Year, Falls 442 Below District Projection

KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha Unified School District enrollment fell by 770 students this school year, dropping from 17,799 students in September 2025 to 17,029 students in the district’s official Sept. 18, 2026 Third Friday count. The decline represents a loss of about 4.3% of KUSD’s student population in a single year. The final number also came in significantly below what KUSD had anticipated.
