Kenosha County Eye Releases Graphic Video Of Brutal Road-Rage Beating After Defendant, Supporters Claim Story Was Fabricated

Tanya Nicole Angotti, 45, Exiting Vehicle With PVC Pipe

KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha County Eye has obtained surveillance video of the July road-rage beating that led to criminal charges against Tanya Nicole Angotti, 45, and her husband, John Michael Angotti, 44, and the footage appears to closely mirror the sequence of events described by police and prosecutors. The graphic video shows Tanya Angotti getting out of the passenger side of a Toyota 4Runner carrying what appears to be a roughly six-foot-long piece of white PVC pipe and moving rapidly toward the alleged victim before she, her husband and Tanya Angotti’s 14-year-old son, RW, become involved in an extended physical attack.

Kenosha County Eye requested and obtained the surveillance footage after Angotti and several people supporting her publicly accused this publication of fabricating portions of its original story. Comments posted on social media and on Kenosha County Eye also challenged the accuracy of the police reports, the criminal complaint and the alleged victim’s account of what happened.

The video is being published so readers can see the evidence for themselves. The footage appears to show Tanya Angotti exit the passenger seat holding the long white PVC pipe and run toward the man. During the confrontation, she can be seen striking the man several times before later handing the PVC pipe to RW (14).

The confrontation then develops into what appears on video to be a prolonged three-on-one attack involving Tanya Angotti, John Angotti and Tanya Angotti’s son, RW (14). At different points in the footage, all three can be seen surrounding and striking the man. RW can also be seen going through the open side of the man’s vehicle during the confrontation to continue attacking him. At another point, the man is on the ground while both adults and RW can be seen kicking and punching him.

The assault continues for roughly two minutes. The criminal complaint filed Sept. 10 described substantially the same sequence. Prosecutors alleged that Tanya Angotti exited the 4Runner armed with a white PVC pipe measuring approximately four to six feet long and that Tanya, John and Tanya Angotti’s minor son surrounded the man near his open driver’s door.

Prosecutors further alleged that after Tanya Angotti punched the man in the stomach and he struck her in response, all three began repeatedly punching and kicking him in the face, head and body. According to the complaint, Tanya Angotti grabbed the man by his hair, pulled him to the ground and continued striking and kicking him while he was down.

The alleged victim told police the beating continued even after he repeatedly said “sorry.” Prosecutors wrote that John Angotti eventually stopped striking him but that RW continued kicking him for another five to 15 seconds. The juvenile allegedly asked the man, “How does it feel to get your ass beat by a 14 year old?”

The man also told police he believed he was struck several times with the PVC pipe. Police documented injuries including swelling and redness around his left eye, scratches and bleeding on his elbow and knee, redness on both sides of his neck and a ripped shirt collar. He later sought medical treatment.

Juvenile Case Believed Filed
Kenosha County Eye believes Tanya Angotti’s 14-year-old son, RW, was also charged in the juvenile court system in connection with the beating. Juvenile court matters are confidential and are not publicly accessible through the same court-record system used for adult criminal cases. KCE’s conclusion is based on records associated with the case that appear to indicate a juvenile complaint was also generated.

The publicly filed adult complaint identifies RW as Tanya Angotti’s minor son and alleges he participated throughout the confrontation, including repeatedly punching and kicking the man and continuing to kick him after John Angotti stopped. Kenosha County Eye is not publishing RW’s full name.

Different Account Given To Police
John Angotti later acknowledged during a recorded police interview that he, Tanya Angotti and RW were all physically involved in the altercation, although he gave investigators a substantially different account of how the fight began.

According to the complaint, John Angotti told investigators that the other driver threatened the family, used racial slurs and struck Tanya Angotti first. He also told police that the man pulled in front of their vehicle and slammed on his brakes before gesturing for them to pull over.

The complaint alleges that before the physical confrontation, Tanya Angotti yelled racial slurs from the passenger window, including, “I’ve been waiting for a nig*er like you.”

Prior Criminal Records
Court records reviewed by Kenosha County Eye show Tanya Angotti has a prior domestic-abuse battery conviction under the name Tanya N. Schneeberger. In 2017, she was charged in Kenosha County with battery and disorderly conduct, both with domestic-abuse modifiers. The disorderly conduct count was dismissed, and she pleaded guilty to the battery charge. The court imposed a $10 fine plus costs, along with DNA and domestic-abuse surcharges.

John Angotti also has multiple prior criminal convictions. In Racine County, he was convicted in 2010 of hit-and-run. Court records show a judgment of conviction was entered after an earlier missed court appearance resulted in a bench warrant and bond forfeiture.

In another Racine County case, Angotti was convicted in 2020 of operating a commercial motor vehicle without a license. He was sentenced to six days in the Racine County Jail and assessed a $200 fine inclusive of costs.

More recently, John Angotti was charged in Kenosha County with two counts of intentionally contributing to the delinquency of a child. In August 2024, he pleaded guilty to one count while the second was dismissed. Court records show $500 in restitution had been paid, and the court imposed a $50 fine plus costs and a DNA surcharge.

Why KCE Is Publishing The Video
Kenosha County Eye does not ordinarily publish every piece of raw evidence obtained during a criminal investigation. In this instance, however, the defendant and her supporters publicly accused this publication, police and prosecutors of fabricating what happened.

The surveillance video allows readers to make their own assessment.

When public records are available to substantiate reporting that has been publicly branded as fabricated, Kenosha County Eye will, when appropriate, publish the receipts.

Tanya Angotti and John Angotti are each charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. They are scheduled to make their initial appearances Oct. 7 before Court Commissioner Daniel E. Kellum.

Remember Kenosha County, KCE always saves its receipts. 😉

  1. Wow that family is quite obese. Maybe a jail diet would do them some good. And that animal hanging off the dad’s face needs to go.

This video is a great example of why concealed carry is a good idea.

    1. That’s your takeaway from this? Fat shaming? Wow…..Nothing about the unchecked violence led by mother, followed by father and then gleefully the 14yoa son? Not to mention the fact that a multitude of people can be seen observing this and apparently did nothing. That kid is obviously no stranger to violence and is going to be on the Eye with his own headline in a couple of years. I bet the three of them went and celebrated with a case of Icehouse, some SlimJims and some salvia. Way to go!!!

  7. I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY BUT: Time brings everything to light – eventually? Well, ALMOST! Shane Burt, who was sentenced 25 years ago this month, is STILL waiting for the prosecutors to hand him his Criminal Complaint that he never received from them. I didn’t know you could sentence someone in the USA without letting them see their Criminal Complaint, but Kenosha did that to Shane! For YEARS I thought Shane had received his Criminal Complaint when I saw a skeleton of the Criminal Complaint HAD been given to him. If it doesn’t have a judge’s or Commissioner’s signature on it, it is NOT a Criminal Complaint, but is merely “information” especially when it is striped of almost all information. (Two pages down to less than one page.) According to AI (Artificial Intelligence) Shane has been waiting for his official Criminal Complaint for 9,356 days today. Yet, Wisconsinites have been paying for his wrongful conviction for over 25 years! Enjoying your taxes Keno Town?

    1. Geez woman, go buy a copy of it then. Inmate “lose” their paperwork all the time. AND if he listened in court he would’ve heard why he was there.
You are definitely not a lawyer. A criminal complaint is just a summary of what happened. It’s not a magic document.

      1
      1
      1. I AM CERTAINLY NOT AN ATTORNEY BUT: Let me clearly state that I am not into drugs. That being said I want you to know that it would be nice for Shane to have “listened in court” but he wasn’t invited to his own Initial Hearing. Why not? Because he was kept in his cell at that time. A mystery attorney (not appointed by the court AND never met Shane) appeared in Shane’s Initial Hearing and accepted Shane’s Criminal Complaint. His name is David Sloan. Sloan was (and still is not) listed on Shane’s Wisconsin Circuit Court website. David Sloan “waived” the reading of the Criminal Complaint obviously because Shane wasn’t there to hear it. And Sloan accepted the Criminal Complaint from the prosecutor. Shane didn’t know he missed his Initial Hearing because he didn’t know it existed until YEARS after his sentencing. David Sloan made an NGI plea for Shane. That should have automatically caused the Commissioner to ask the important three questions: 1) is the plea voluntarily, 2) did the defendant have an understanding of the nature of the charge, and 3) did he understood the punishment if convicted.971.08(1)(a). However, the Commissioner did NOT ask these three questions. Why not? Because Shane wasn’t present. Yet the NGI stuck! When I finally found Sloan years later he couldn’t stop laughing and between his almost choking (he was laughing so hard) he said he was wondering how long it was going to take for me to find him and that the prosecutor was smart – the smartest. Your insults and slander are similar the insults of both the prosecutor and David Sloan. How interesting!

        1. Listen closely crazy lady. The criminal complaint is just a summary of what happened. It’s not a magic OMG document. Your boy knows what he did so there shouldn’t be any surprise to him.

All inmates get the chance to speak with an attorney AND to go to court. If he didn’t go to court, that means he was acting like a jackass and couldn’t be trusted to act like an adult.

Maybe walk your ass over and purchase the reports for the case and READ what happened instead of believing whiny calls from the lying inmate.

Damn, can’t people even adult anymore? Whine whine whine.

          1. The criminal complaint is certainly not “just a summary of what happened.” It is a legal charging document that cites the charges, the statutes charged to have been violated, and the maximum possible penalty. It’s signed by the district attorney. It’s signed by the magistrate. It is required to be served on the defendant.
Don’t go posting your worthless opinion on topics you obviously know NOTHING about.

            1
            2
            1. She’s referring to a paper copy. The original is not given to the inmate. And the complaint is read into the minutes in court.
Her idea that him not getting his photocopy of it means he’s not charged is incorrect.
YOU should understand the court system better.

              1. The original copy of a criminal complaint is filed with the court. The DA has his copy; the defendant is served his copy. The criminal complaint is NOT read into the record in court.
He is formally charged when the complaint is filed with the court. The rules of criminal procedure require that the defendant receive a copy of the complaint against him.
You should be embarrassed by your ignorance.

      1. Interesting that you should say that to my comments! Shane’s father has been dead for over 50 years now. His grave is decorated every Memorial Day because he was a Marine. Shane’s father believed in patriotism and the US Constitution. Ironically, his only child, never experienced the justice of being able to have a fair trial and Due Process..

  8. Why on earth people would scream at each other and follow anyone to continue an argument that stems from someone not using a turn signal, or “taking their turn” is beyond me. This is the kind of thing that people do. People are unpredictable, and irrationally violent. Next time someone cuts you off, just remember if you drive there is no way you can truthfully say you have not made a mistake while driving. It’s not worth screaming anyone, or following them. Go on with your life, don’t let small things that won’t affect you 30 seconds from now ruin your day.

    1. Because our current administration says it’s okay to be an asshole. No one wants to be kind anymore. It is truly pathetic.

      4
      17
        1. Bullshit.

You can’t blame dRumps mess on Obama or Biden anymore. Tired pathetic excuses.

Your ring master of chaos has created a big fucking mess.

          2

  9. I’d be willing to fight those three.. to even it out a little I’ll bring my Granddaughter pretty sure she would kick the sh*t out of that little punk… oh by the way she’s 15 but I don’t see a problem. And I’m positive I can take the Elf and his chubby wife no problem.

  10. The video shows all that is wrong “people”, I use that word loosely, think they can do whatever they choose. You would think that being in their mid forties they wouldn’t act like children – scratch that … ANIMALS

  11. I find it ironic that this family family is rascist against blacks but raised an animal who engages in the usual animal pack attack activities and the usual animal head stomping an opponent when down on the ground activity.

Father and son are cowards who do not fight fair and the broad is pure white trash.

All three would have been one punch knock down or outs for me. Maybe 2 for the son due to the resilience of youth.

  12. Judge Bastianelli sentenced road rage defendants to prison, no ifs, ands or buts. I think it’s appropriate. There is no way behavior like that is acceptable in our society.

  13. A perfect example of how violent people are. If I saw her coming at me with that pipe, I’d pull an ICE move and run her down. But, if I was packing, I’d tell her to stop while I retreated 2 feet (for court purposes) and launching 2 hollow points to her head, stopping the threat. While the hubby and punk kid watched. At that point, there’d be no legal reason for my gun unless dad picked up that pipe and charged, which would result in him getting his share. Would love to be on that jury.
