KENOSHA, Wis. — Newly obtained Wisconsin Department of Corrections investigative records confirm that former Kenosha Correctional Center Sgt. Melvin Bean Jr. was fired on March 2, 2026, after investigators determined he sexually harassed a female coworker, including unwanted physical contact, and misused his taxpayer-funded cellphone for personal and sexually suggestive communications. The findings are detailed in a 112-page investigative packet obtained by Kenosha County Eye through a public records request. Bean, who had worked for the DOC for nearly 17 years, was terminated after spending approximately seven months on paid administrative leave.
