KENOSHA, Wis. – A 19-year-old Kenosha man accused of pointing a handgun directly at another student, making a threatening statement about the student’s mother, and later slapping him in the face was given no-cash bail Monday by Kenosha County Court Commissioner Daniel “Catch & Release” Kellum. Mikhail Bolden, 19, of Kenosha, appeared in court on October 12, 2026, charged with a single misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, despite allegations involving a firearm, threats, and physical violence at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

According to a criminal complaint filed Monday, the incident began late Thursday night, October 8, 2026, when Bolden allegedly summoned another student to his apartment through Snapchat. What followed, prosecutors allege, was a confrontation involving a handgun, an alleged threat, and a subsequent physical altercation that was partially captured on university surveillance cameras.
At approximately 11:19 p.m., Bolden allegedly sent the student a Snapchat message directing him to come to his apartment at University Apartments, 4019 University Drive. The student arrived with another individual at approximately 11:25 p.m. Several people were inside the apartment when Bolden allegedly confronted the student about why his name was being mentioned.
According to the complaint, Bolden demanded that the student “Put it on his Momma.” When the student complied, Bolden allegedly became upset, pulled a black pistol from his jacket, pointed it directly at the student and declared, “Your mom is Dead.” Bolden also allegedly called the student a derogatory name before the second student was pushed out of the room.
The two students fled to the laundry room at Pike River Suites, another university residential building. However, the confrontation allegedly continued when Bolden and several other individuals approached them as they left the laundry room.
Prosecutors allege Bolden grabbed the second student by his collar and pushed him. After that student pushed Bolden away and left, Bolden allegedly confronted the original student again, got directly in his face, called him a derogatory name and slapped him across the left side of his face with an open hand.
University police officers responding to the incident observed visible redness and swelling on the student’s face. Sergeant Walkowiak photographed the injuries.
Perhaps most significantly, investigators obtained surveillance footage from the Pike River Suites lobby that corroborated portions of the students’ accounts. According to the complaint, the footage showed Bolden pushing one student, another individual blocking the exit, and Bolden slapping the other student across the face.
University of Wisconsin-Parkside Police Officer Pagan, assisted by Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputies, subsequently contacted the occupants of Bolden’s apartment. Officers obtained verbal consent to search the apartment and took Bolden into custody.
During a post-Miranda interview, Bolden admitted confronting the student and slapping him in the lobby, according to the complaint. However, he disputed the specific allegations involving the firearm.
Only One Misdemeanor Charge Filed Despite Firearm Allegations
Despite the allegations that Bolden pointed a handgun directly at another student, threatened him, and later physically assaulted him, prosecutors filed only one criminal charge: disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
The charge carries a maximum punishment of just 90 days in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both. Bolden was not charged with a separate firearm offense, battery, or any felony in connection with the alleged incident.
The criminal complaint does not indicate that police recovered a firearm during their investigation.
Commissioner Kellum Sets No-Cash Bail
Bolden appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court Monday afternoon before Court Commissioner Daniel “Catch & Release” Kellum. Assistant District Attorney Sarah Norkus appeared for the prosecution, while Attorney Elizabeth Ellsworth-Kasch represented Bolden.
The hearing lasted approximately three minutes, from 1:23 p.m. until 1:26 p.m.
Kellum found probable cause and entered a not-guilty plea on Bolden’s behalf. He then set no-cash bail, allowing Bolden to be released without posting money.
The conditions of bail prohibit Bolden from having contact with either of the two students involved in the incident. The court record does not identify a separate firearm-specific bail restriction.
The case has been assigned to Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Jason A. Rossell in Branch 2.
Bolden is scheduled for a pretrial conference on October 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., followed by an in-court judicial pretrial on December 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
The allegations raise questions about why an incident involving an alleged handgun threat on a university campus, followed by a physical confrontation documented on surveillance footage, resulted in only a single misdemeanor charge and no-cash bail.

Losers! And corrupt ass judges.
I’m sure he will end up with a professor job there, but he’ll have to victimize a lot of people first to “learn”.
