WILMOT, Wis. – Women throughout Kenosha County and surrounding communities are invited to get into the Christmas spirit by joining the Riverport Chorus for six weeks of holiday singing, culminating in a free public Christmas concert in December. The longtime local singing group is welcoming guest singers of all experience levels to learn Christmas carols and other holiday favorites while discovering the joy of four-part a cappella harmony. There is no participation fee and no long-term commitment required.

The Riverport Chorus, which celebrated its 62nd anniversary this year, is launching its annual holiday guest singer program under the festive theme, “Let Your Inner Elf Shine.” The program allows women who enjoy singing to experience performing with an established chorus without having to join permanently.
“We encourage local ladies to let your inner elves shine with song,” explained Julie Quesenberry, Riverport Chorus president. “This is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and explore the joy of four-part acapella harmony with us.”
Six Weeks Of Holiday Music
Guest rehearsals will take place every Monday evening from October 26 through November 30, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the choir room at Wilmot Union High School, located at 11112 308th Ave. in Wilmot. Participants will learn traditional Christmas carols and other seasonal favorites alongside members of the chorus, preparing for a special December performance.
Sheet music and learning tracks will be provided to help singers learn their parts, with a $20 refundable deposit required for those materials. The chorus emphasizes that participation itself is free, and women are welcome to experience the program without any obligation to continue singing with the organization afterward.
Free Christmas Concert December 5
The six-week program will conclude with a holiday performance on Saturday, December 5, at 6 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Paddock Lake. Guest singers who participate in the rehearsals will be invited to perform alongside the Riverport Chorus, sharing the Christmas music they have spent the preceding weeks learning.
The concert will be free and open to the public, giving families, friends and community members an opportunity to enjoy live holiday music while supporting local singers. Organizers hope the performance will bring people together through familiar Christmas favorites and the unique sound of four-part vocal harmony.
