KENOSHA, Wis. — A 46-year-old California man wanted in Illinois on felony identity theft and fraud allegations is facing eight criminal charges in Kenosha County after prosecutors say he led law enforcement officers on a dangerous, high-speed chase Wednesday, October 28, 2026, reaching speeds exceeding 110 mph, driving into oncoming traffic, and nearly striking a sheriff's deputy. Peng Ren, 46, of Inglewood, California, appeared before Kenosha County Court Commissioner Daniel “Catch & Release” Kellum on Thursday, October 29, where Kellum set $100,000 cash bail in the new criminal case and an additional $5,000 cash bail in a separate extradition case.
