Kenosha Fire-fighter and EMT Kerry Poltrock II was disciplined by Fire Chief Chris Bigley and notice was given this morning at the Kenosha Police and Fire Commission’s monthly meeting. The two disciplinary measures were for two very different reasons.
Domestic Violence
On June 5, 2020 Poltrock was arrested by Kenosha Police officers. On October 10, 2020, only after being pressured from KCE, he was charged by the Racine DA’s office for 6 counts of domestic violence. They alleged three incidents of physical violence against his wife. His wife also obtained a restraining order against him where he admitted to slapping her. He also admitted to the Fire Chief’s office that he slapped his wife three times. It was undisputed. At least as of a couple of months ago, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating allegations of sexual assault against his children. The Sheriff’s department refuses to close the case even though Racine DA Patricia Hansen told police she wasn’t going to charge him with the sex crimes. Hanson entered into an agreement with Poltrock that she will dismiss all charges against him if he stays out of trouble for 1 year, not being arrested again. Hanson is a progressive prosecutor but refuses to prosecute most serious crimes by public safety personnel. She does put a (R) after her name. Poltrock received a (5) day suspension for the domestic violence.
Practicing Medical Services Without a License
When the state medical licensing board found out about Poltrock’s criminal charges, they suspended his EMT license on April 2, 2021, sending notice to his email and his house via certified mail. On June 16, 2021, KCE received a tip that Poltrock’s license was suspended. We asked the Fire Department but never heard back. Poltrock didn’t tell his bosses that his license was suspended and continued to work as an EMT for about 5 months. Once KCE started asking more questions, mainly, why is he still on the job with a suspended license, Poltrock was placed on leave. His license was later re-instated when he told the state that his charges were dismissed. They won’t be dismissed until July of 2022, if he stays out of jail. Poltrock received a (1) day suspension for practicing EMT without a license. The Fire Chief wrote that Poltrock treated 72 patients without a license and resulted in 30 hours of administrative work to refund medicare and medicaid patients.
Solicitation of Prostitution Suspension
Kenosha Firefighter Andrew Belsky also was suspended for (1) day for soliciting a prostitute on June 29, 2021. Notice of this discipline was presented to the Police and Fire Commission today as well.

they be riding dirty. would you want either of these nasty loser perverts touching you? heavens to betsy NO WAY! they should not only be fired- they should both be in jail. shaking my head. yall need a southern baptist church in kenosha- too many folks do not have jesus in their hearts. sad and pitiful.
What is the reason for not prosecuting sexual assault of a child? The Sheriff is refusing to close it, thank goodness but even more telling is the GAL and the children’s counselors refuse to give Mr. Poltrok ANY visitation- not even supervised. (Family court CCAP) Could you imagine him responding to a child call- good grief!!!
If she is refusing to prosecute- all report records should be available for open records.
