You have probably read that 63 year-old Micheal Lorberter has been arrested and charged for a shooting that occurred on Monday. He was alleged to have used his minivan as a weapon and then opening fire for a suspected road rage incident.
At the same time that he was charged for these crimes, he was also charged for another set of gun crimes for an incident that occurred on July 8, 2020, more than THREE months ago. In this incident, he was alleged to have been drunk in a local tavern and made some racial slurs to a another patron. He then pointed a gun at him. For the July incident, he was charged with:
Pointing a firearm at another
Carry Handgun Where Alcohol is Sold and Consumed
Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated
Carrying a Concealed Weapon and
Disorderly Conduct, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
Why did it take Michael Graveley and his prosecutors wait more than three moths to charge these VERY serious crimes? If they would have not been in neglect of their duties, would Lorberter have been in jail awaiting trial since July, thus could NOT have victimized more people on Monday? Even more interesting? The charging document was signed on September 14, 2020. Did this get lost in the shuffle? Someone has some explaining to do.
Mister Graveley. Your political actions, and in-actions have very real consequences in this County. Kenosha is good for about 5 or more shootings a week these days. While you are busy charging people with crimes and investigating others for political reasons, people are being hurt and killed. Do your job, or frankly, even better, resign.
