According to the criminal complaint:

On or about November 12, 2024, at approximately 8:26 p.m., a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the Kenosha County Detention Center located at 4777 88th Ave in Kenosha. A jailer there was physically abused by an inmate, per dispatch.

When he arrived, the deputy spoke with the corrections Sergeant, who described being assaulted by inmate Madison R. Momani. The corrections Sergeant provided a written statement.

The corrections Sergeant explained that when he started his shift, he was tasked with reviewing video footage to see if he could identify who was throwing things in the day room. He identified one person doing so as Madison Momani. Momani was to be placed in segregation for his actions, but Momani refused to leave his cell. The corrections Sergeant went to Momani’s cell to try to gain compliance. However, Momani refused, and said he was going to smear feces in his cell and spit on staff. Momani made a statement to jailers to “suit up,” meaning that they would have to forcibly remove Momani from his cell.

The corrections Sergeant went to Momani’s previous cell to gather hygiene products, and brought them to Momani. Momani tried negotiating with the corrections Sergeant for how many days he would be in segregation for. While standing approximately one foot away from Momani, Momanit struck the corrections Sergeant with a closed fist in either the chin, or on the right side of his face, causing the corrections Sergeant to experience pain without his consent. Momani then continued to strike the jailer in the back of the head, causing pain. Momani was decentralized, and the corrections Sergeant stayed on top of Momani until backup arrived.

The corrections Sergeant stated he did not consent to being assaulted, punched in the face, or hit in the back of the head, and he did not consent to anyone causing him pain. The corrections Sergeant was treated by medical staff on scene, who needed to give him antibiotic cream, ibuprofen, and ice for swelling. The deputy was able to observe multiple black, blue, and purple spots on the corrections Sergeant’s face and head, consistent with bruises. He also noted injuries on the corrections Sergeant’s elbow.

The deputy read Momani his Miranda rights at 9:55 p.m. Defendant only asked what his charges were. After The deputy informed him of the Battery by Prisoner charge, defendant did not wish to speak with him anymore.

  1. After reading this, I feel compelled to ask,
Has there ever been a situation where a jailer can consent to getting beat on in any way, shape or form?
And why would this be written up this way?

As for the POS, hopefully this scum is locked away in prison for a long, long time.

    1. It’s just a formality. A person can consent to battery but not bodily harm and a corrections officer would never consent to a fight. But that is what the law requires. I work law enforcement and if I do a simple report for say a theft, I have to fill out a form saying there was no consent to take/ do/ hit etc.

  2. This is what happens with the current DA and court system. I hope incoming Mr. Solis will drive them out of the temple.

  3. “The corrections Sergeant stated he did not consent to being assaulted, punched in the face, or hit in the back of the head, and he did not consent to anyone causing him pain”.

    Really!

    1. He wasn’t such a bad ass then, was he?

      Too bad the shooter missed.

By the way, what parlor do all these guys get their shitty ass tattoos at?

  4. Those are elements of the crime of battery that have to be proven to convict.

Too bad this DA office will probably bundle everything together and offer a plea for probation.
