The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon outside Shenanigans, a bar located on 52nd Street. According to the criminal complaint filed by the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, Shellie approached the other woman outside the bar after a verbal confrontation. Witnesses and video surveillance described Shellie forcibly pulling the woman out of her car, spraying her in the face with pepper spray, punching her repeatedly, and eventually biting off part of her ear during the assault.

Responding officers located the severed portion of the woman’s ear in the street. She was later treated at a local hospital, but declined to take the dismembered portion with her. The complaint notes that the woman also suffered hair loss during the altercation, and a braid was found nearby in the grass.

The charges against Shellie include mayhem, a Class C felony carrying a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison. She is also charged with aggravated battery, use of an oleoresin capsicum device during the commission of a crime causing bodily harm, misdemeanor theft, and disorderly conduct. If convicted on all counts, Shellie faces a maximum sentence of more than 60 years in prison.

Witnesses told police that Shellie and the woman had an ongoing personal conflict that began months ago and was rooted in a dispute over a man. The complaint describes threatening messages exchanged between the two, including one from Shellie referencing a prior incident involving a smashed car window, and another from the alleged victim containing a death threat directed toward Shellie.

After the attack, Shellie reportedly left the scene in a gray Chevy Equinox driven by another woman. Surveillance footage showed two children also inside the SUV at the time of the incident. Police arrested Shellie later that evening at her residence after a neighbor called to report she had returned home.

During her post-arrest interview, Shellie initially denied using pepper spray or biting the woman’s ear, but later told officers she “blacked out” during the fight and did not recall many details. She acknowledged that she did not want to be charged with a felony and claimed that she had been provoked by earlier threats. Shellie also admitted to discarding the woman’s car key in a park out of panic.

Law enforcement is still working to locate the woman’s missing iPhone, which was reportedly last detected near the bar but appeared to have been powered off after the assault.

Shellie remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail.
