KENOSHA, Wis. — Wisconsin Circuit Court records filed early Tuesday morning show the state Department of Revenue filed a delinquent income tax warrant against Solis in Kenosha County Circuit Court, case number 2026TW000318. The warrant, which carries the force of a civil judgment, reflects $8,024 in unpaid income taxes, $2,873.98 in penalties, and $2,710.60 in accrued interest, a total of $13,608.58.
The underlying tax obligation was assessed October 14, 2025, though the back taxes predate Solis taking office as District Attorney on January 6, 2025. The lien, if unsatisfied, runs through 2046.
Solis, who now lives in Bristol, confirmed the matter to Kenosha County Eye and offered an explanation for why it reached the warrant stage at all: the Department of Revenue had an outdated address on file for him, something he acknowledges is his own fault.
“The DOR had an incorrect address on file for me, and that’s on me,” Solis said. “I should have made sure they had my correct information, and I didn’t. Had I known this warrant was coming, I would have addressed it immediately.”
The CCAP record lists Solis’s address in the 4700 block of 21st Ave in Kenosha, his former residence.
Solis said he plans to resolve the debt promptly and placed the tax shortfall in personal context.

“I grew up poor,” he said. “I was the first in my family to graduate from college and I paid my own way through college and law school. When I had children of my own, I was determined to give them the opportunities I didn’t have. Helping put three kids through college is expensive. I overextended myself.”
He added: “I owed a little over $8,000 in back income taxes. I don’t have regrets. It’s life, and I’m only human.”
Solis was emphatic that the matter has no bearing on his prosecutorial duties.
“This isn’t something that has any effect on my work for the Kenosha County residents in putting bad guys behind bars,” he said.
Tax warrants are a routine enforcement mechanism used by the Wisconsin DOR when taxpayers fall behind on income, sales, or other state taxes. The DOR files thousands of such warrants annually across Wisconsin counties. A warrant does not reflect criminal conduct and can be satisfied through payment or an approved payment plan, at which point the court record is updated accordingly.

Notably, David Kollath, the Democrat director of WGTD, a state-sponsored media outlet whose operations are funded by tax dollars, is preparing to report on the matter. Kollath earns more than $100,000 in taxpayer money annually. Whether a publicly funded radio director choosing to pursue a hit piece on a sitting DA represents responsible use of taxpayer resources is a question Kenosha County residents may want to ask.

I am in contact with the absolute dolts who “work” at DOR in Madison as a part of my job. They require 10 days to provide a payoff, nearly all of their communication is auto-generated emails telling you to hurry up and wait. When you get a human it’s obvious they hire from the lowest common denominator of the DEI pool. You know who never hears from the DOR, medical billing companies or the utilities firms? Deadbeats with no job or a “public sector” job who leach off the hardworking middle class in this state.
