KENOSHA, Wis. – A Kenosha mother already facing felony charges for allegedly stabbing and running over the father of her child is now accused of punching her 9-year-old son in the face and dragging him up a flight of stairs — all while out on bond in the earlier case.
Brittany S. Minnieweather, 33, was charged May 12 with physical abuse of a child and felony bail jumping. She has been ordered to appear in court at 1 p.m. on May 20.
The new charges stem from a January 28 incident at Minnieweather’s home on the 5200 block of 68th Street. According to the criminal complaint, her son told his father that Minnieweather punched him in the face, then dragged him up the stairs after he tried to hide in the basement. The boy had visible bruising on his face, a cut to his gums, and scratches on his back.

Minnieweather allegedly told the boy’s father, “I had to snatch your son up since he wouldn’t get off the couch,” and later added, “I ain’t raising no bitches. They be acting like bitches.”
The child was taken to Children’s Hospital, where he participated in a forensic interview. He has not lived with Minnieweather since.
At the time, Minnieweather was free on a $2,500 cash bond set by Court Commissioner William Michel in a separate July 2024 felony case that involved a different victim and a separate domestic incident.
In that case, she is accused of stabbing the man with a broken champagne bottle, then intentionally backing her SUV into him and fleeing the scene. The alleged attack occurred near 50th Street and 42nd Avenue.
Police later located the vehicle — a light-colored Chevrolet Traverse — concealed behind a fence at Minnieweather’s residence. Officers observed what appeared to be blood on the hood and bumper. Her children reportedly told police that she had driven the vehicle that day.
That case includes five charges:
- First-degree recklessly endangering safety (Class F felony, 12.5 years)
- Substantial battery with use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse enhancer (Class I felony + 5-year enhancer, 8.5 years)
- Hit and run causing injury (Felony, 9 months)
- Battery (Class A misdemeanor, 9 months)
- Disorderly conduct (Class B misdemeanor, 90 days)
Maximum penalty for 2024 charges: 31 years and $56,000 in fines
The new 2025 charges include:
- Physical abuse of a child (Class H felony, 6 years)
- Felony bail jumping (Class H felony, 6 years)
Maximum penalty for 2025 charges: 12 years and $20,000 in fines
In total, Minnieweather now faces a maximum of 43 years in prison and $76,000 in fines if convicted on all counts in both cases — not including mandatory domestic abuse surcharges.
Despite the severity of the allegations, she remains free on bond and has not been taken into custody.
