KENOSHA, Wis. — In the early hours of June 2, 2025, a 33-year-old Kenosha bartender, Justine E. Bloxdorf, was arrested after allegedly attacking her sister with a pair of scissors following a reported dispute involving drugs.
According to police sources, a 9-1-1 call was made around 2:22 a.m., shortly after Bloxdorf finished her shift at a downtown tavern. Responding Kenosha officers recommended criminal charges of battery and disorderly conduct, possibly with a dangerous weapon enhancer, due to the reported use of scissors during the altercation that occurred in the 7000 block of 26th Avenue.
Bloxdorf posted $1,300 in cash bail and was released later that day. However, the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office declined to pursue criminal charges and instead issued a citation-level ordinance violation for disorderly conduct.
Court observers and legal insiders tell Kenosha County Eye the lighter-than-usual charge may be related to the fact that the alleged victim—Bloxdorf’s sister—is a witness in a pending felony case. Prosecutors may have exercised discretion in order to avoid complicating the other case.
Despite the apparent leniency, Bloxdorf pleaded not guilty during a bond court appearance on June 3. According to sources familiar with the case, this surprised some officials, as defendants who receive ordinance deals in situations involving potentially serious charges typically plead no contest or guilty to resolve the matter quietly.
Instead, Bloxdorf reportedly expressed frustration with both the Kenosha Police Department and District Attorney’s Office. On social media, she inaccurately declared that “all charges have been dropped,” a claim that does not align with the court record.
She is scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial conference on June 27.
