KENOSHA, Wis. — Aaron Cumberland, 16, of Kenosha, and Carlito Ayala, 19, of Kenosha are being held on a combined $3 million cash bail in connection with the fatal shooting of Bradford High School student Isiah “Zay” Cooper, who was on probation (or recently discharged) at the time of his death, according to sources familiar with the case. Investigators say the killing was not the result of a dispute over shoes, despite widely circulated online rumors, but instead stemmed from a planned criminal encounter involving guns in which both groups allegedly intended to rob each other. Prosecutors told the court Friday that formal charges against Cumberland and Ayala are expected to be filed Tuesday, Feb. 10.

I guess we killed two birds with one stone here then. Adios to all of them. Luckily, none will be able to hurt innocent people now.

    1. That’s not nice! They were children. Pray nothing like that happens to people you love who are going through challenging times on their life! Prayers and love for the families and a mother who is grieving. You need to find light and love not hate!

      1. They weren’t fucking children. They were both strapped. Would you say they were just children if one put a bullet through your loved one’s head?

      2. I absolutely agree, we will never know the truth in this sad situation, they all made a mistakes that have caused all the families involved to cry. My heart is with them all.

  2. I saw Isiah “Zay” Cooper’s mom on the news crying making it sound like her some was a saint. Now we all now what we suspected, 16 years old and already a felon. And of course, no dad at home, shocker 😜

    1. thats a lie, Isaiah was not a bad person, Aaron made state that they were going to rob the money from the teens. Kenosha County eye needs to do better than spreading false information.

        1. A felon at 16 ?? Not a bad person ? Are you sure about that ? Doesn’t sound like a productive member of society to me .

          26
          2
        2. You people need to stop referring to this 16 year old felon as a ‘baby’. He was a thug, a loser, and would have been a burden on society in the long run. Parents do better and you wouldn’t have to bury your kids.

          18

        3. Absolutely not and that Aaron kid I used to go to school with him he was a douche then and is now he deserves everything that’s happening to him

      2. need to watch who u hangout with, u become who u surround yourself with. my condolonces but he was no better, hopefully teens use this as a learning lesson. life isnt what the media and these rappers talk about. be better go to college stop trying to be so grown and enjoy these young years before u dont reach age 21

      5. Kevin is very racist! He loves this the fact that he included the deceased was on probation?! Only to victimize the deceased cause of his skin color. He’s a lonely POS. You people are cowards & none of you would ever say anything to our face. …

        4
        5
        1. So let me understand, it’s the communities fault she raised thugs that rob people? And you have the nerve to claim we are the racist ones? Sorry, but not sorry, nobody is going to mourn the death of her 16 year old THUG! Good riddance to all 3 of them, the community is safer.

          1. children regardless, as a hs student myself thug or not nobody deserves to lose their life when ours are just starting, grow a pair.

    2. The mother was crying because her baby was murdered. And just because she’s a single mother doesn’t make that the reason of his legal status. I was raised by a single mother and I thank god for that. I hope you’re not a mother and have to endure this pain!!! You probably think of yourself as god fearing too 🤣. Take your a$$ to church cause you need Jesus 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

      1. bullspit. There is a large amount of kids at Bradford that live with their grandparents because the parents are not around.

        PS Not normal!

        2
        2
  3. From the beginning I knew that both parties planned to do the same thing (zay was going to rob Aaron for his gun. Carlito was there to help Aaron rob Zay for money) so charge them with the same thing. I knew Zay & I know Aaron both kids who growing up had no guidance or father figures also smoked weed constantly especially weed vapes (research what that does to a teenagers brain) just raised by people around them and social media. I blame the parents & the group who controls the media. Also we need more after school programs to keep us busy (important to always tell your children you are who you hang with)

    28
    3
      1. Stop with the nonsense no Aaron did not have a father figure ! He barely had a mother if you have no legit facts see your way out!

      1. Also, parents are supposed to take responsibility and raise their own children. Why should society be responsible to take other people’s children. Parents, step up and do better.

        10
        1
    1. Oh let me guess, you are a perfect teen with perfect attendance & on honor roll whom has never done a damn thing wrong?! You’ve never smoked pot or skipped school & you listen to you’re parents & you do you’re homework before you leave school? Now isn’t the time to drag anyone in the mud. You’ll grow up a coward like the rest of the anonymous comments. Worry about yourself

  4. Well that’s Akward for family, why didn’t they say he was 16 and already had a felony, still letting him run streets……

    8
    3
  5. Regardless of Isaiah past he was still someone’s child, friend, nephew, grandson, etc. Stupid that he lost his life over anything and now the other family has lost their child as well to prison. My heart breaks for all these families. I couldn’t imagine ever dealing with losing a child to the grave or cell!

    16
    1. Could you imagine a stray bullet during this little adventure killing someone else’s child after passing through their bedroom window?

      1. That would be sad for an innocent bystander considering this situation had two kids choosing to show up to a gun show! Where were their parents???

  6. All I have to say is the parents in Kenosha need to do better ! Become a village ! Don’t be upset if someone corrects your child when they are doing wrong ! Just go to one of the basketball games at the middle school and see how brainwashed our children are ! Walking around in the games with shiesky mask , half naked young girls running around talking out the side of their neck . We have to show them better ! If you are a single parent and know your family’s shit find a mentor , get them involved in clubs ,church & decent members of society.Heck spend some time with your children .Watch who they hang with ! The list could go on !

    19
    1
  7. It blows my mind on what these idiot kids thought the end game was? Kenosha is not that big. If they rob eachother they will run into eachother again being easy to find in school

    1. “……….they will run into each other again being easy to find in school…”
No doubt that run in would have happened in a Kenosha Public school?

  8. I am sorry that this happened. A boy is dead, and others are going to prison. I wish there were more deterrents to prevent this from happening in our community

    4
    1
  9. A tragedy for all those involved including the taxpayers who’s hard earned money was spent on all involved and will continue to be spent long into the future.

    3
    2
  10. At the end of the day, a kid still died. Zay went to my school he was nothing but nice, funny, and always making sure everyone around him was okay. Our school has been so quiet since he’s passed away. Even if you didn’t know him that much just a simple hello or a smile from him always made you happy. He was very well known and a very sweet kid. He will be missed. LLZAY 🕊️❤️

    6
    1
    1. Hard to believe someone on probation at 16 and trying to rob somebody was “always nice” so no one believes you

      5
      2
      1. You don’t even know the real reason he was on probation and you don’t know him… he was a kid and was NICE to everyone around him. You’re not in highschool and don’t know. Next time keep it in your head instead. If this was your kid you would feel the same way. Get a life. A child died.

        4
        2
    2. Obviously the personality you are describing turns on and off with a switch based on the behavior on the night he died.

      3
      2
    3. This might very well be true. It’s unfortunate he felt he needed to act hard then outside of school……

It’s high school, people. I get everyone wants to fit in with a group but it’s not worth risking your life getting killed or being put in prison trying to fit in with a certain group. I promise you that like five years out of high school you will laugh that you ever gave a fuck about what people thought about you during that time.

      3
      1
  11. Wait. So the brother is in detention and the 16 year old was on felony probation but he was a good kid and mom is surprised? Wtf
