“I wanted to show the world that what happened in Kenosha in 2020 was more than just riots. There were peaceful protests during the day, but come nightful, havok rained down on my hometown,” said DeBruin. “I wanted people to see what I saw first hand through my lens.”

In the book, the original exhibits from the trial are included. DeBruin also still has ownership and possession of the original poster-sized exhibits from the trial with the exhibit stickers in tact. The exhibits are for sale – for information, email DeBruin.

DeBruin felt heart-warming that so any people took interest in Kenosha by buying his book. Although now at #15, the book has been as high as #9. “Being a witness in the trial changed my life, in some ways for the better, and in some ways, making things a bit more difficult. But overall, I’m fortunate to have played small part of this pivotal moment in Kenosha’s History,” DeBruin said.

Yours truly is even in the book. I was photographed by DeBruin unknowingly. I now consider him a good friend.

  1. This book is on my coffee table as I write this. Bird Watcher gives it the “thumbs up” and a “buy recommendation.”
“Now Mr. DeBruin, did you have a camera when you worked on this book?”
    “That’s how I would’ve got those photos.”

  2. I’m glad for this book.

What’s really overdue is a top-to-bottom debriefing, no holds barred, to get to the bottom of this. But nobody has the courage to do it.

  3. I dont need a book, I can vividly remember the chaos.
Ill never forget that the mayor sat on his thumb while all chaos ensued.

  4. It is still a painful memory for me and many of my senior neighbors. A peacful loving community infiltrated by outsiders. We did not deserve it. Now all the media trucks gone. The social activist moved on. The streets swept, the windows replaced. We remain.

  5. I certainly hope that other police shootings that led up to the unrest are in the book. The Michael Bell shooting was certainly on people’s minds when the Blake shooting occurred. Bell did 40 interviews during the unrest period to include BBC London, the New York Times, Washington Post and CNN International. Kenosha police still refuse to release the 19-year-old bullet from that shooting for forensic examination even though the city has released other evidence. Kenosha says a crime was not committed. Bell has offered $200,000 to local charities if the bullet is released. Mayor Antaramian and retired KPD Chief Morrissey could well be implicated in the cover-up.

    1. Bell’s shooting, Kyle Baars incident, Kendal West beating the tar out of an ER doc and ripping up restraining orders, Pablo Torres, Jesse Salazar – that police impersonator punk who went around robbing people, beating the tar out of his victims, and, despite being a multiple felon, brandishing a firearm, and the KPD protected him. A blind man could have seen that riot coming.

  6. Ahhh good times…. Those were the days …. For about a year I hosted the Kenosha Riot Dinner Playhouse/Bicycle Tour …. For a fee we would tour on bicycles the riot sights & you could act out the shootings—— you could be Grooskruetz, Kyle , the molester dude , or the druggy skate punk —- It was FUN!

  7. How about reaching out to Julie Bayles about the book she wrote about her son Seth and his courageous battle with an unknown disease and his strong faith. Her book is also available on Amazon . We are stronger together, very uplifting.

  8. More self enrichment exploiting/glorifying a career criminal who has resisted arrest, assaulted officers, brandished a knife. Blake should be in prison.
