SBA’s Season of Small Business™ Encourages Shoppers to Gift Big, Shop Local™ Throughout the Holiday Season
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Regional Administrator Geri Sanchez Aglipay and SBA Wisconsin Director Eric Ness will join Kenosha’s mayor, SBA resource partner WWBIC, and woman and minority entrepreneurs to shop and dine small on Nov. 21. In advance of Small Business Saturday, officials will visit several small businesses in downtown and uptown Kenosha that are flourishing with SBA support and ready to host local shoppers and diners.
SBA is encouraging local shoppers to take part in shopping and dining small on Small Business Saturday, an annual event founded by American Express and celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024. It takes place on Nov. 30 this year and serves as the kickoff of SBA’s 2nd annual Season of Small Business holiday campaign which will continue through December.

According to American Express, the projected total reported spending among U.S. consumers who shopped at independent retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday since its founding has reached an estimated $201 billion. As a old white guy with plenty of disposable income and who’s taxes goes to subsidizing these government programs along with the people who run the it would seem I’m not welcome.
Is this poor old man starting to feel marginalized like women and minorities have felt? Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and attend the event – show them you now understand their struggle.
