Salem Lakes, Wis. — A 19-year-old woman from Salem Lakes is facing felony charges after allegedly stabbing the father of her child during a domestic dispute Sunday morning.
Tyairah L. Smith appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court on Monday, where a court commissioner set her cash bail at $5,000. She faces three criminal charges: first-degree recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment, and disorderly conduct — all with the use of a dangerous weapon and as acts of domestic abuse.
Deputies: Victim prevented from leaving home
According to the criminal complaint, deputies responded to a 911 call around 8:30 a.m. on April 6 at a residence on Antioch Road. There, they spoke with the victim, who reported that Smith had attacked him multiple times, attempted to stab him, and prevented him from leaving the home.
He told deputies the confrontation began when Smith was awakened by their child and became angry. She allegedly struck him several times before grabbing knives from the kitchen and slashing at him in a “slicing motion,” according to the complaint.
At one point, he said he placed Smith in a headlock in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. But she reportedly followed him through the house while holding knives and blocked the doorway to keep him from leaving. He said he was stabbed near the ribs — though the knife didn’t puncture his skin — and sustained a cut to his finger as he tried to escape.
The complaint states that Smith told him, “It’s either me or you, because I’m done with this,” before he ultimately fled the house through a bedroom window.
Facing up to 20 years if convicted
Smith is charged with:
- First-degree recklessly endangering safety, a Class F felony that carries a maximum penalty of 13 years in prison and a $25,000 fine with a weapon enhancement.
- False imprisonment, a Class H felony with a maximum of 6.5 years and a $10,000 fine with a weapon enhancement.
- Disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 9 months and a $1,000 fine with a weapon enhancement.
.
If convicted on all counts, Smith faces up to 20 years in prison and $36,000 in fines.
She is scheduled to return to court later this month for a preliminary hearing.

I think sometimes people are so angry throughout life because their name is so weird they could never buy a little bicycle license plate with their name on it.
Little rough foreplay never hurt nobody……..
Please don’t tell us that she is a teacher.
BDSM gone bad?
That’s why you don’t put your dick in crazy…
Young and dumb
You misspelled “Democrat” voter…..
On the plus side, the baby daddy was living with the baby momma, so let’s call this one a win for the African-American community.
Racist much?
Sounds statistically correct to me…
Realism is a bitch

it’s honestly shameful how prejudice the white community can be. i hope you don’t claim to love God while spreading hate. that’s an evil spirit. a part of the problem.
That is a racial comment that you made right there yourself cause you’re singling out one color I don’t care who anybody is. Somebody is racist against something whether it’s the color of someone’s skin the height, the weight of a person who their God is it doesn’t matter there’s racism everywhere But the one that seems to come up the most is white people being prejudiced against Black people and there’s just as many Black people that are prejudiced against white people because racism very sadly exist because people can’t let shit go
Sounds like she became angry because the child woke her up after she was smoking pot the night before and the father of the child did not want to get up either.
ahh yes, those dreaded pot hangovers I’ve heard about 🤦♂️
You are obviously unaware of how humans behave.
Get a load of this guy
Typical case, that parents are not allowed to whip their kid’s ass a little, Or they would be on here with a headline portraying their guilt.
I can fix her
I believe in you bro
lol you’ll be on here next
The women criminals are having quite a week !
very inconsistent statement by the alleged “victim.” i’ve heard a different story but of course all we have is his side. have we considered that maybe HE has been the abuser this whole time? both physically and mentally to this girl. she just had a baby – postpartum is a real thing. it doesn’t make it right but maybe like she said, she was fed up with that loser.
don’t leave his name out because he is NOT a victim. ********* ********** is an abuser currently on probation for a sex crime involving her
*Edited to remove alleged victim’s name from comment

This is a mighty strong accusation…
A sex crime crime? Really? Definitely NOT true.
While he is on probation, it is NOT for a sex crime. Sadly she has had mental health problems for awhile and does need treatment. He is an excellent father and while on her meds, she is an excellent mother. This is a very sad situation and I hope she learns from it quickly. I hope she has the opportunity to.
What happened here, tragic.
Those who make comments here without knowing those involved or the backstory that led to this breakdown, ignorant.

Postpartum depression is real.
If someone you love exhibits the signs of postpartum depression, please, insist that she seeks/continues to receive help. As much as you may love someone and as hard as it may be, the best thing you can do for someone with this or any type of depression who begins acting out physically in any way is to take the children and leave; then get a restraining order until it’s determined that she’s not a threat to anyone. Hopefully, it would give her time to realize that the path she’s going down isn’t good for anyone and seek/continue to get help on their own. I’m sure that letting family and friends know your concerns could only help in this decision.
In this case she was diagnosed with postpartum depression and began taking the medication prescribed, but stopped because she “felt better”.
I’m surprised he could get her in aheadock, but was stuck inside and couldnt leave. I am also surprised he left the baby there. Something just seems missing here.
