Kenosha, Wis. — A Kenosha man remains entangled in a series of domestic abuse-related court cases, all involving the same alleged victim. Nicholas E. Smith, 45, is facing four separate criminal cases filed since January, three of which remain pending.
In his most recent case, 2025CM000547, police responded to Smith’s residence on April 27 after a neighbor reported a woman had run from the home without a shirt or shoes, claiming she needed help. Witnesses told officers she appeared injured, and one man said he saw Smith yelling for her to “get the fuck back here.” Police observed swelling, abrasions, and dried blood on the woman, who alleged Smith had beaten her over a two-day period and prevented her from leaving the home on multiple occasions.
Officers reported that Smith had to be tased during the arrest due to non-compliance and appeared heavily intoxicated. Despite the police recommendation for a felony false imprisonment charge, the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office filed only misdemeanor charges, including five counts of bail jumping and one count of disorderly conduct with domestic abuse enhancers. On April 28, Court Commissioner William Michel II set a $2,500 cash bail.
The same woman is the named victim in the three currently pending cases:
- 2025CM000271: Filed in early March, this case includes allegations that Smith repeatedly struck the woman during a domestic altercation while both were intoxicated. A family member reported that Smith threw a hammer at her and punched her multiple times. Officers noted visible injuries. Smith was given a $650 cash bail and ordered not to have violent contact and to avoid alcohol.
- 2025CM000377: Less than three weeks later, Smith was charged again for allegedly violating his bond by assaulting the same woman. Witnesses, including one of her children, told police they saw Smith strike her in the face. He was given a $1,000 bail and a no-contact order was imposed.
- 2025CM000547: In this latest case, prosecutors allege Smith violated the court’s previous orders by engaging in additional violence, having contact with the protected person, and consuming alcohol. Law enforcement responded to a chaotic scene where the woman fled from the home injured and sought help from neighbors.
.
In an earlier case from January, 2025CM000080, Smith was charged with disorderly conduct following a drunken confrontation with his adult stepson. That case was dismissed and resolved with a non-criminal citation.
If convicted on all current charges, Smith faces multiple years in jail. His next court dates have not yet been scheduled in all pending cases.

Thought solis was going to be tougher
They say anything to get elected.
Nick is crazy and he is going to end up killing her!! He keeps getting a slap on the wrist!
Dudes garbage. Been like this for years Coke addict raging alcoholic and child and wife abuser. Needs to be locked away for as long as possible.
Nick better hope he gets jail cause there’s a lot of family members that wanna talk to him.
Why didn’t they talk to him after the 1st time
Some family. If this was my daughter, Nick would have gone missing a while ago.
Pretty stupid to blame her family when you have no clue about the situation.
What a waste of skin this guy is. Can’t beat a man so he beats women. Her people need to pay this lame a visit.
There’s only one reason why he’s wearing that turtle suit. Ain’t nobody feeling sorry for you. If you threatened to do something while you were in there then maybe you should follow through with it and do the world a favor. You’re trash guy.
My question is why does she stay with him? Multiple times of being beaten, it’s time to leave! He has issues, and clearly doesn’t want to change.
It’s her house. She had that house before she met his woman abusing A$$
Men like this need to be restricted from any contact with women or children. Similar to the way we treat pedos. Sick human beings.
What is the prosecutorial difference between Mile Gravely and Xavier Solis?
I my opinion, NONE. Both are liberals.
As a former Kenosha County Court Bailiff, I observed both. Neither impressed me.
The victim is at least somewhat responsible for herself. She chose to be with him. And sounds like this isn’t her first rodeo with him. There’s two sides to every story. We are only hearing one side. There comes a time when she has to take care of herself. C’mon now.
I’m not saying he isn’t wrong or that she deserved it. I’m just saying she’s not disabled, she’s not mentally challenged right?
Some women don’t mind being beat up, I don’t understand but it’s obvious.
You don’t know this man’s history with drugs and alcohol and the uncontrollable impulsiveness he possesses outside of these instances.
He is dangerous!!!
Not TRUE!!!If you ever been abused you would know …it’s not as easy as you think!!!! These men will threaten their children and family members!!! DONT JUDGE or make statements on what she should do or think!!! Thats the problem with society, they have all the answers and have never been in that situation and NO woman wants or like to be beat upon or verbally abused. Pray for her and her children .
His wife is also an abusive alcoholic. Every report shows her being heavily intoxicated. She was arrested for battery and let go. No one ever questions these altercations. Always blames the man immediately. Maybe there is two sides to the story.
You don’t know what you are talking about. She may be an alcoholic but she’s always the one who has the injuries. He is a big hulking man who has been abusive for a very long time. Long before his current wife. He has been a drug abusing alcoholic for a long time. He probably picked her because she was an alcoholic so that he could abuse her.
As one of his other victims and someone who isn’t an alcoholic I can attest that is indeed why he probably picked her and he’s been abusing woman and children long before her. Either way she is a woman and he is a man with a very bad temper, especially when he is drinking or using drugs and is very very strong. She’s the one with injuries, not him. There may be two sides, but I called what was going to happen long before it did because it happened to me and I was not intoxicated. I guarantee he sought her out exactly for that reason, they look for a certain type of person and then groom them. This is not his first abuse case, he is the common denominator here. And for those of you who keep asking why she kept going back, maybe learn a little more about the cycle of abuse and why we stay as long as we do. Quit victim shaming her!!
She is not an alcoholic either. She is one of the sweetest ,kindest, giving person I know .She is a hard worker with a great job and a wonderful mother. But I’m not sure how she got involved with him ,they dated not long and then we’re married.i believe he groomed her
