KENOSHA, Wis. – A 35-year-old Kenosha woman is facing felony charges after allegedly swinging her fist at a police officer during a confrontation inside Froedtert South Hospital’s urgent care wing over the weekend.
Jamie L. Turner was formally charged Tuesday in Kenosha County Circuit Court with Attempted Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting an Officer, and Disorderly Conduct — all with repeater allegations based on prior criminal convictions.
Court Commissioner William Michel II ordered a $1,000 cash bail during her initial appearance. Turner remains in custody at the Kenosha County Jail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 11.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred on Sunday, June 1, when staff at Froedtert South contacted police about a woman — later identified as Turner — who was yelling and creating a disturbance in the urgent care area. When Kenosha police officers arrived, they encountered Turner standing outside of an exam room, continuing to shout at staff.
Hospital security reportedly told police they simply wanted her to leave. Officer Matthews advised Turner several times that she needed to exit the premises and warned her that refusal could result in arrest. Turner refused to comply.
Officer Stephan Van Pamel reported that while standing near Turner to ensure staff safety, she began closing in on him and disregarding his verbal commands to step back. When he extended his left hand to create distance, Turner allegedly pushed it away with both hands.
At that point, Van Pamel tried to secure Turner’s arms, but she pulled her right arm back, balled her fist, and swung it toward the officer’s head. Van Pamel said he was able to deflect the attempted punch and pushed her backward toward a wall to create distance.
Officer Matthews then tackled Turner to the ground and placed her in handcuffs. She was arrested at the scene and transported to the Kenosha County Jail.
Prosecutors are pursuing repeater enhancements in all three counts due to Turner’s previous convictions. According to the complaint, she was convicted of Disorderly Conduct and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping in Kenosha County Case 22CM64, and Battery in Kenosha County Case 22CM57. All of those convictions occurred on January 19, 2023, and remain on record.
With the repeater allegations in place, Turner faces elevated penalties. The most serious charge — Attempted Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer — carries a maximum of three years in prison, but the repeater enhancement adds the possibility of two more years. The Resisting charge, normally a misdemeanor with a nine-month maximum, also increases to a potential two-year sentence. The Disorderly Conduct charge, typically capped at 90 days, likewise carries an extended maximum of two years due to her criminal history.
If convicted on all counts with the enhancements, Turner could face up to seven years in custody and thousands in fines.

Severe mental illness with this woman, she needs to be institutionalized because this is daily behavior with her. Kenosha County refuses to take steps towards a mental detention, so hospital staff, police, courthouse staff, and any other resident with potential contact is in danger from her.
A lot of people are being diagnosed and armchair diagnosed with mental illness when the true problem is that they are just entitled pricks.
