Labor Day Holiday Will Delay Kenosha Garbage, Recycling And Other Waste Collection By One Day

KENOSHA, Wis. — City of Kenosha residents will see garbage, recycling and several other curbside waste collections delayed by one day during the week of Labor Day.

There will be no curbside garbage, recycling, brush, tire or bulk collection on Monday, Sept. 7, because of the Labor Day holiday. Monday routes will instead be collected Tuesday, with each remaining route pushed back one day through Saturday. Regular schedules resume the week of Sept. 14.

Residents who need brush, tire or bulk garbage pickup must contact the Department of Public Works at least one working day before their normal collection day. City Hall will also be closed Monday, so residents needing special pickups are encouraged to schedule them in advance.

The Bulk Drop-Off Site at 1001 50th St. will be closed for the holiday and reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bulk drop-off tickets can be purchased online through the city website or in person at City Hall.

The Yard Waste Drop-Off Site at 4071 88th Ave. will also be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Concrete/Brick Drop-Off Site at 6415 35th Ave. will reopen Tuesday for its normal hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
