Kenosha Metra Station Elevator Back In Service After Nearly Six-Month Replacement Project

KENOSHA, Wis. — The elevator at the Kenosha Metra Station is back in service after being unavailable for nearly six months while it was replaced.

The City of Kenosha announced Thursday that the elevator at the station, located at 13th Avenue and 54th Street, is now operational following replacement with a new commercial elevator.

Installation work began March 9, 2026, and the new elevator became operational Thursday, Sept. 3. With the elevator restored, passengers who require elevator access can once again use the Kenosha Metra Station for boarding.

The city thanked Metra riders for their patience while the replacement project was completed.
