Kenosha is jumping into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 15, with the Inaugural Eric Olson Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Look for Irish dancers, music and more. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at 50th Street and Seventh Avenue, proceeding south on Sixth Avenue to Library Park. The parade is presented by the City of Kenosha, Downtown Kenosha and the Lakeshore Business Improvement District.
Community members and groups are invited to show their spirit with floats, marching bands, dance groups and other entertainment. Parade applications are available at the Mayor’s office or online on the events page at www.kenosha.org. Sponsorship opportunities at a range of levels are available.
The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. as the Kenosha harbor is dyed green. Mick Kelly, parade chairman and a native of Ireland, will join Mayor David Bogdala at the small pier at the harbor for the ceremonial pouring of the dye into the harbor. Meanwhile, volunteer boaters will assist with additional green dye out on the harbor. Citizens may gather at Navy Memorial Park or along the harbor promenade.
At 10 a.m., a 2KM Guinness fun run takes off near Captain Mike’s and heads south through the heart of downtown. Runners have the challenge of enjoying a pint of Guinness at three stations along the route: Captain Mike’s, Swedes, Cut Stone Foods and back to Captain Mike’s. Troll on, troll.
Fuck dying the harbor green. Fix our roads Bagdala!
Agree. Racine, Somers, Bristol, Lake County, Wheatland, Gurnee, etc all have good roads. Why do we have terrible roads in the inner city. My road hasn’t been repaved in 40 years.
Want to see a parade and green water take a train to Chicago or drive. Fix our infrastructure Mayor. You want a second term?
Sounds like fun!
Who’s paying?
OMG….stop it!!!
Um no. How about you stop defending people who are stealing my money to dump dye into the fucking lake?
Bogdala is into photo ops. He doesn’t care about your road. There’s no photo app for that fixing the road. I’ve noticed his ego gotten bigger and bigger.
What did you expect? That’s part of the problem People you need to lower your expectations!
Sounds like fun! Thank you to all who are helping and participating! Happy and excited about this future event.
Are you a six figure income City or KUSD employee?
