
SOMERS, Wis. — Kenosha County’s popular “Picnic in the Park” celebration will return Saturday, Aug. 16, at Petrifying Springs Park, offering families a free evening of food, music, and entertainment, officials announced.
The event kicks off at 4 p.m. on the south end of the park near the Biergarten and will conclude with a fireworks finale at dusk. Attractions include live performances by Milwaukee-based ska band Brewtown Beat and the high-energy rock group Relativity, along with bounce houses, kids’ games, face painting, food trucks, and community booths.
“Picnic in the Park is always a highlight of the busy summer in our Kenosha County Parks,” said County Executive Samantha Kerkman. “We’re excited to offer this free evening of entertainment and family fun to our county residents and visitors alike.”
Shuttles will run between the park and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Lots B and C to accommodate extra parking.
The full schedule includes:
- 4 to 8:30 p.m. — Community booths, face painting, photobooth, bubbles, games, and inflatables
- 4 to 6 p.m. — Live music by Brewtown Beat
- 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — Live music by Relativity
- Dusk — Fireworks show
