Brian Palmer (37) of Kenosha

Do you recognize this man? If so, he may have delivered a package to your home or business. His name is Brian Palmer. He grew up just over the border in Lindenhurst, IL.

The following is according to court records:

Palmer’s juvenile record is unknown, those records are sealed. His life of crime began in 2001 when he was 17 years old. He was convicted of disorderly conduct in Lake County, IL.

Things escalated 8 years later. In 2009, Palmer got into a fight with his mother and her boyfriend in Bristol, WI. Palmer spit in his mother’s face and her boyfriend became upset. Palmer attacked the man and pulled out a knife. He told the man that “I will cut your throat and piss in your neck. I don’t give a fuck, I will kill you, I’m cold!” These statements were corroborated by other witnesses in the home at the time. Palmer later took off his shirt and said “you think prison is bad?!” He then began to beat his mother’s boyfriend. He was charged with serious crimes but the Kenosha DA’s office and judge approved a plea deal where Palmer plead guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct and got one year of probation and oddly allowed for these crimes to be expunged. He would never get the chance.

Not long after the violent conviction, a search warrant was executed at his home in Illinois. He was suspected of selling cocaine out of his home that he shared with his minor siblings. He was arrested and convicted of possession of a controlled substance, his first felony, in 2010.

The next year, in 2011 he graduated to burglary. He was arrested and convicted in Lake County, IL. He got 6 months in prison and got two years of probation.

The year after that, in 2012, he was arrested and convicted for receiving of stolen property in Bristol, WI. It appears that Palmer burglarized an acquaintance’s home and pawned several items. The police seemingly didn’t have enough evidence for the burglary charge, but did have enough for the “receiving stolen property.” Kenosha prosecutor + Kenosha judge = fine. No jail was ordered.

A few months later, burglary again. Arrested…. and convicted. This time a Lake County, IL judge got tough on Palmer – three and a half years in prison. His pattern of serious crime caught the attention of someone…finally.

Palmer stayed out of trouble for for a short period of time after he left prison.

Attempted Homicide

About four years ago on Monday June 12, 2017 a nightmare became a reality for a 54-year-old woman. Palmer attempted to take her life when she walked into an elevator at Prairie Ridge Senior Campus. She was visiting her mother, who was a resident of the senior care center. When the elevator doors closed, Palmer punched her in the face causing her to bleed profusely. Palmer is a highly-trained MMA fighter. He then used a choke hold that he ostensibly learned from his training. She couldn’t breathe. He then tried to snap her neck. She was able to press the panic button on the elevator. The door opened at one point and a cleaning lady saw the attack. He stopped choking her briefly, but when the door re-closed, he started choking again. She thought she was going to die. Palmer then stopped choking her as she thought that he knew “he was running out of time” before police arrived. She had extensive injuries on her arms, face and neck. Palmer fled the area, but neighboring police agencies arrived and found Palmer. He said “I’m the guy you’re looking for.” He was taken into custody after being tased and resisting.

Palmer’s Interview With Police

Palmer was interviewed at the Pleasant Prairie Police Department. Palmer detailed that he saw words on a spinning vehicle tire that told him to “carry out a hit on someone.” He said strangers would nod and tell him where to go. He said strangers were asking him if his family members were still alive. He then told police a stranger told him that he had to “read the message” and “do the hit.” When Palmer saw the woman in the elevator, he knew that she was the “target” of his “hit.” He admitted to beating and choking her. He said he wiped her blood off of himself. He rambled on with obviously imagined or made-up events that happened that night. The on-call prosecutor told police to charge Palmer with attempted murder.

Judge Jodi Meier (D)

Court

Palmer made his way through the Kenosha County court system. The prosecutors on this case were DA Michael Graveley and Judge-Elect Angelina Gabriele. On February 19, 2018 Judge Jodi Meier (D) sentenced Palmer to 25 years of commitment to the Wisconsin department of health services. He plead “Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Disease or Defect.” This stiff sentence seemed appropriate to the community and it was highly publicized. What happened two years later, during COVID was not. DA Michael Graveley and Deputy DA Angelina Gabriel incredibly told Judge Jodi Meier that they wanted him released from the mental health facility. Judge Jodi Meier agreed and said that Palmer’s “release would not pose a significant risk of bodily harm to the defendant or others, or serious property damage.”

He was then released back to Kenosha. He currently lives in a group home in Kenosha and is supervised. Palmer’s probation agent, Charles Sosinski said in a letter to the court that he is working as a package handler for UPS out of Sturtevant, WI. His route includes downtown and other areas of Kenosha. His agent is recommending that he be allowed to leave the supervised group home and move in with his ex-wife and minor kids. Judge Meier hasn’t ruled yet.

Kenosha DA Mike Graveley (D)

Opinion: The most important role a judge plays in the judicial system is to keep the public safe, namely from homicidal maniacs. The fact that this bad hombre was released after two years for attempted murder is unconscionable. If and when this man attacks again, the blood will be on Jodi’s hands. She won’t care though, she is a “merciful liberal” after all. Bad move judge. Apparently she lacks common sense. You already know our opinion about Graveley and his office. They play politics. They gamble with our lives.

Oh ya, and why does UPS do background checks if they let this man have a job?

  1. I’ve been given the privilege of knowing the homicidal maniac you have taken the time to write this piece about & while he does have a history he is still a great person. If the courts were so worried about the public then why would they turn their cheek knowing there is a conspiracy against the rights of the American people & traumatize thousands of children; destroying family after family?
Also, Charles Sosinski is probably the best agent that county has but it was unclear if he was favored or not within this piece.
    good article though.

  2. I knew Brian years ago and he is loyal and loving person but has also been through a lot in his life. Life wasn’t kind to this man and it’s possible he turned to things that helped him cope. If any of these words about the attack are true, I deeply sympathize with this women having lived through such a horrific ordeal. However, having known Brian, it’s VERY possible that he accepted whatever help was offered to him in this institution and is taking total advantage of his second chance for himself and his family.
