PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – Emergency crews rescued an unresponsive man from the roof of a building Thursday morning in the 8300 block of Lexington Place, using specialized equipment and training to bring him to safety.
According to the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department, police and fire personnel were dispatched at 8:32 a.m. for a report of an individual who was unconscious on the rooftop of a commercial property. Upon arrival, first responders found the patient unresponsive and immediately began a high-angle rescue operation.
Firefighters used a Stokes basket—a rigid rescue stretcher—and a ladder system to safely remove the man from the elevated structure. The patient was carefully packaged on the roof to prevent further injury during transport, then brought down by 8:48 a.m.
The individual was transported to Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital for evaluation and treatment. His condition has not been released.
Pleasant Prairie Fire officials praised the coordinated efforts of their technical rescue team, noting that high-angle rescues require both precision and speed in medical emergencies.
